Default 88-Rotors for brembo

hello guys,

I was looking into changing my rotors and brake pads on my stock brembo set.

I was looking to get HAWK pads and get the 88 rots mentioned below..drilled and slotted along with stainless steel braided lines from Z-1..Right now my brakes are ok..no fading but needs the pads..so I thought i might as well change it all..will this be an upgrade or downgrade.

I would get rotors that are coated (zinc) on the hats, so you don't get ugly rust deposits.
you can get Centric premium coated drilled and slotted (same as Power Stop/Slot) pretty cheap. BTW, I would just do slotted, not both for longevity and less prone to cracking around holes.

Yup on the rusty ones. It will happen. Get the coated Ones for sure. They have the platinum Series.
Doesn't matter on the drilled or slotted alone. I like drill and slotted combo.

Never mind. I thought this was important. Important enough to say “thanks” or simply reply.

I was looking into the same thing. Rotors should be fine. I have also heard of guys actually painting the rotor face black close to the hub. The pad will wear off all the black area it is in contact with and you will be left with a black ring where rust normally shows up. Not sure if its a good practice or not, but have heard of people doing it.

One of the more popular shops on the boards here does this and it works fine.

I just received my set (front and rear) of the 88rotors slotted/drilled the other week. My Stoptech pads and stainless lines come in today from Z1 so I haven't installed them yet. I noticed that they are coated with something on the outter side of the rotor (not the inside though). I'll post up some pictures this weekend when I finally get them installed.

I got the same set setup that OP is talking about. Hawk pads, 88 slotted and drilled rotors, SS brake lines. I love it, It was a definite improvement as far as noise and just go and it looks letter.
