Exclamation Help Me Decide!

I am stuck on which coils to go with. It will be used on a daily driver and thats it. It will never see any track time, just some spirited driving. Not looking to be slammed either, but low enough to get rid of wheel gap. So with that said...should I go with the Fortune Auto 500 or BC BR? I have been researching for the last couple of days, reading threads over and over again. I am currently leaning towards the Fortune Autos, but then I read something and I second guess myself. I heard they are a bit stiff for daily driving? I just dont want to spend extra money if it is not needed, as I could put the extra money towards something else.

*Note, I am also on the list for the Top Speed ones, but I am at the bottom, so I am only considering these if I dont get passed over on the current round of sets because I need something fairly quick.

If you're not going to see any track time and you're just looking for a nice, subtle drop to eliminate wheel gap I'd say try to go with the Top Speed coilovers. They'll probably get to you, a lot of people on the list are declining their opportunity.
Every review I've seen on the TS-1 coilovers has proven a positive experience for the buyer.

IMO - Personally, I'd go with the BC BR's over the fortune auto's just based on all the information I've gathered from using the forums.

Of those two choices I'd probably go with Fortune Auto. Seems like they're trying to make a somewhat affordable option that performs well consistently. You can also have your coilovers serviced by them, which they do in house.

If he is putting them on a DD and not tracking it at all, why should he buy the most expensive of his two choices (3 choices if he contemplates TS-1 Coilovers)?

Eibach pro kit springs and quality struts will be a lot better than any of the crappy china coilovers

Just merely stating my opinion that I like the fact that they can be rebuilt in house if need be. He's more than welcome to take that with a grain of salt and purchase something else. I just put myself in his shoes and that is what I'd choose.

I was considering springs and struts at first, but I dont like how, what you get installed is what you get and you cant change it. I dont know if pro kits go that low, most pictures I looked at still had wheel gap. Sportlines go pretty low, but heard the ride wasnt that good (without struts I assume?).

Thats why I was looking at coils. Height adjustable and they are around the same price as springs/strut combo.

Dampers , are what will make or break the ride. D-Specs will be better than the cheap china dampers that come with low end coilovers.

+1

THMotorsports has a sale going right now with D-specs and springs for a price between the crap TS-1 and your other choices. The sale is listed with Tein springs, but plenty of people have chosen different springs.

If you really must go with coilovers and only want one of the 3 you listed then choose the Fortune Auto. As mentioned before you can have them rebuilt in the USA and for a decent price. However, I would trust the adjustability of a D-spec over most of the low-end coilover dampers.

dropping money on coilovers over springs and good shocks/damper is kinda silly for just a daily driver...the performance gain on that combo over the coilovers mentioned is better..

ill add my .02..

i have stance adjustable coilovers.. LX.. and i still think the ride on tokicos and eibachs is better for just a ncie DD feel ( had em on my Z32) .. AND.. ive never touched them to change the height in my life.. pretty pointless imho.

Im hoping an upgrade to 13k/11k will help reel the nice feel back in, but jsut saying.. everyones worried about adjsutability, but to be honest, its a pain to do and screws your alignment and camber etc everytime you do it. It aint a parking lot fix er up job if its to be done right.

Okay, so you guys have provided a lot of feedback AND...I think I am going to go the spring/strut route. Tokico d specs and some springs, which I have yet decided upon.
