Default [Question] Tokico D/Spring Package + Shopping for parts

Hi All,

I drive a 2005 35th Anniversay Edition and it's around 75000 miles, this is my DD but I'm also thinking about attending track events. (nothing serious with this car as it's my only car)

My mechanic told me the rear shock is leaking and I think my suspension is pretty crap. So I've been looking for several options to get my suspension right.

At first I was looking at KW V2 or PSS10 but then with additional parts I need, it seems it would be out of my budget. (My budget is around ~$2000 for everything) So I did my research and I decided to go with Tokico D + Spring package and start from there. (I chose to get all necessary parts than get a good coilover with messed up alignment)

So here is my situation

* Rear shock is leaking (hence new Tokico D)
* Differential Bushing is leaking
* Compression Rod Bushings torn

With Tokico D + Spring, I expect about 1'' drop for both front and rear. I heard rear camber and toe is must so I'm planning to getting a camber arm and toe bolt. Only concern with Toe bolt is that I heard it slips (like SPC one mentioned in suspension 101 by JasonZ-YA). I am also thinking about getting front camber arm as well since I want to align it to perfect spec.

So It seems I need

* Rear camber arms and Toe bolts. (Eibach or SPC?)
* Front Camber arms (Kinetix?)
* Differential Bushings (Whiteline)
* Compression Rod Bushing (Whiteline)

These are currently what I'm looking at, I was wondering if there's better alternatives for each part. (esp. for Rear toe, I don't want spend $$$ on a SPL adjustable spring bucket but would like get a reliable adjustment that will stay aligned.)

If there's any additional bushing that might be necessary/would be ideal to replace, please let me know as well.

Hope experts in this forum can help me out, Thanks

Will make a better reply later , you may not need camber arms. The V2 may be a great choice.

Do you really need adjustability of KW or PSS9? You could try KW V1 or PSS instead and save some $. Front camber arms are likely not needed, and the rears probably. SPC is the cheapest reliable alternative for the rear, but it does require elongating holes on your subframe. Everything dependent on how much you drop your car.

Well, I'm not really interested in the height adjustability as long as it is a bit lower than the stock, which made me think it would be smarter to go with adjustable (damping) shocks over a full coilover (KW or PSS) and save some $$$ (actually almost $1000) for camber kits and bushings. (Or even swaybars).

If you are getting the Tokico springs most likely you will need front and rear camber kits. I have the Tokico package and did not need to install the toe bolts since my toe was within spec. If I were you i would install your struts/springs first then go get an alignment and see where your specs are before spending money on camber kits. But I am 99% sure you will need a camber kit.

Ok , https://my350z.com/forum/socal-marke...coilovers.html would be a great idea. There are some good deals out there.

Camber arms , are not needed up front. You will have around 1.5 front camber. This is perfect for a DD and much better for the track than factory alignment settings. Rear arms , crap shoot. Some cars will need them others ......... Wait to get everything all said and done.

So what you need is your spring and damper setup, diff bushings , LCA and compression arm bushings. If you don't go with a quality coilovers like KW I suggest D Specs with the ARK drop springs, they have a great spring rate

Just a little lower than stock sounds like camber arms won't be a concern, except for the rear if that. You won't know until you're on an alignment rack though, and if you end up needing one you'll have to go back.

I have the D-Spec shock and spring package. I did need the rear camber kit, not the front.
I really love the ride and the moderate 1inch drop. Glad I made that choice.

I bought Tokico D + Spring, SPL Compression Rod bushing, Whiteline LCA Bushings. Will get SPC rear camber + toe kits. I think I will skip front UCA for now and see how alignment come out to.

Anyone know any place I can install in Socal? I was planning to do it myself but I don't think I want to leave hydraulic press sitting in my room after I get the bushings done...I would still like to do it myself (DIY FTW) since I have great DIY guides sitting in this forum for me to use. (and it's just more fun that way)

I like the idea, but I would need to take the arms out at the pepboys so they can replace the bushing and put it back it the car. Is this even doable? Did you buy a new set of arms?
