Fortune auto coilovers...messed up my order and sent me extra parts.
Yes my shocks are set the same. I have them both maxed out on low. The passenger side coil is set on maxed out low, my drivers side is about 3/8" from all the way low, and its still lower than the passenger side. It really pissed me off bc they should theoretically be the same if both sides are set the same. I'm really disappointed on this one, I'm calling fortune tomorrow, maybe they'll come up with a solution. If not, I'm gonna switch the components to the opposite sides and see what it does.
Second, fill the gas tank, make all adjustments on a full tank
Third, make sure your surface is level
Fourth, disco sway bars ( one endlinks per bar is all that's needed)
Fifth, if you have OEM bushings, slightly loosen them ( they cause a bind , and the bind can be uneven )
Sixth, make you adjustments
Seven, tighten your bushings back up
Eighth, set preload on sways to Zero when you reconnect them.
Ninth, get car aligned.
Step 6 I also like to set the shock travel/shock length before preload. No point of having a bunch of unusable travel. If you do that you will maximize bump and extension travel. Then I set ride height with only preload.
the quality of the coilover is irrelevant to setting them even. as you said, even your high end coilovers are uneven(even though im unsure what you have). so much for number one. every thing else i agree with.
z on te37. ulsess your setting this thing up to race, just adjust the coilovers till its even. assuming you have stock bushings and sways, links.
if it were mine though i would take the time and do it. also try what you were saying about switching springs.

BTW typically on a car that has been on the corner scales and properly corner weighted, the pass side sits about 1/8 inch high. I just set the pass side 1/8th inch high now when i set the suspension up now.
Swapping springs will do nothing, unless you have a weak spring. If you have a weak spring, and its on the proper side, you car will be level.
Most of the time i find the front sway bar and height setting are what screw up the rear. Minor adjustment up front will change the rear height a lot.
Well this is what I'm gonna do, first, I'm gonna check all of my settings up front. Then ill loosen and retighten my rears to make sure there aren't any bushings working against me. Next, ill put a little over a half a tank of gas in. After all of this, ill see how it levels out, if its still off, I'm gonna switch the sides that the springs are on and see if one is weak, if so, fortune auto is never gonna hear the end of it.They stress how evenly balanced their shocks and springs are.
Shocks have nothing to do with the height, only springs.
OEM style bushings act as a spring
Sway bar acts as a spring
Springs acts as a spring.
BTW the reason for a full tank of gas is to make sure both sides of the tank have equal amounts of fuel. We have a saddle tank that is not even close to beimng a perfect design.

Nothing wrong with lowering springs, most with a proper set of dampers will be better than cheap coilovers.
