Default Identify this piece on HKS Hipermax III Sport coilovers

So today when i was leaving a gas station on a very low to moderate angle driveway. The rear passenger corner suddenly emitted a loud "POP" and as such I pulled over to see if i blew a tire. Come to find out when i compared both rear coilovers, the "gold" round **** piece is what snapped off leaving what seems to be a small metal guide that it used to sit on. I'm trying to identify what this piece is, what it does, and will i be able to repair it without having to buy a WHOLE new set of coilovers since HKS will not send replacement coilovers. Thanks!

That's what I thought too but I did some research and I don't see any type of adjustment for dampening or rebound for this setup

Ouchy Mr. Wallet isn't gonna like this!

I agree on the damper **** or pressure gauge of some sort.

I just took off my Stance coils and also have 3 different complete stock setups if you need a temp setup!

Good luck

I thought so at first as posted above but on second look it appears to be at the wend of the shaft. Unless the shaft is hollow that **** is in the wrong spot to be changing a valve opening.

Maybe it connects the fork to the shaft to prevent rotation.

Yeah now that I re-re-re think about it (glex's post through me for a loop) it has to be the dampening adjuster. MY bc's have them on the shaft as well but since this is an inverted setup the shaft connects at the fork vs the top like most others.

Look up the specs for this setup and let me know if it says it has any type of adjustment apart from height.

All vendors seem to have the same description and none say it.
Let the owner chip in and say if it does have those adjustments

First thing that came out of my mouth was rebound/dampening adjustment **** until I did a look up

was it removable or do you have to order a whole cartridge just because of that?

That was my first thought also but why doesn't it stated on the description on any site including the manufacture.

If you have the coils pictured above. The **** highlighted is for the dampening. Which in turns stiffen/soften ride quality a bit. The correct way would be to start over on your preloads for the spring since your road conditions have changed dramatically.
