Default Replacing dust boot on HKS coilovers?

I just bought a set of HKS Hipermax 3s from the forum, and the two rear shocks have split dust boots. Is it possible to replace these without opening up the shock part (i.e. I want to do this myself)? For info, my coilovers look like the ones here https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...stiffness.html

The two rear shock-only parts have the split boots. I don't think these dust boots are that flexible/rubbery so I don't think there's any chance of stretching them over the top.

Also if anyone knows the best place/way to get them, let me know...all I've seen so far is that HKS Japan's web site does show dust boots...presumably one of them will fit (but at what cost).

I've seen a dust boot type thing that you can basically slip over most of the shock to keep dust/dirt/grime from building up as well as keeping water out so nothing has the chance to rust. They weren't that cheap though, which was the only problem.

Is that over the whole shock? To be honest I want to replace it only with the same type of dust boot - keeping it original - and the existing one only covers part of the shock...

What I was referring to covers most of the shock, it's just something generic that has the same purpose as the dust boot you're looking for but might do a better job at keeping everything clean.

Either way, not sure if you'll be able to source HKS specific dust boots.

No worries, I'm not too worried about dirt as such but more if stones, etc can hit the sliding part that goes into the shock. I'm trying to contact HKS about the parts but may just leave it as-is (the dust boots are basically in two parts right now, hah).

If anyone has any idea if I can change them without disassembling the coilover (i.e. messing with the fluid) I'm listening
