Default koni rear shocks wrong length?

In the middle of installing my koni shocks and compared to the oems they are drastically longer extended and compressed.

Part # 8241 1217sport

Eyelet to top mount surface is 20" on koni vs 17.5" oem uncompressed. Compressed 15.5" vs 14".

According to Konis website these are the correct parts but seem too long to use especially on lowering springs. .

Anyone with konis care to weigh in?

All I can tell you is those are the exact same part numbers as the ones i've been driving around on for years.

I'm about to pull the rear spring to see if the koni travel range does not limit the suspension travel.

In case you have not seen this, check it out. There may be some details posted by Chris that might tell you if it's right or not...

Eyeballing Chris's pictures my shocks are the same length.

Despite my better judgement it appears the konis allow more travel then the stock shocks.

I removed both rear springs and pushed up on the spring bucket arm until it just started to lift the car. At this point I measured from the tip of the upper spring bumper to the center of the spring bucket I found 4.0+ inches with oem shocks, 3.75" with Konis.

I'll be calling Koni tomorrow and have a shock in hand to verify dimensions.

According to koni usa my shocks have too long of bump stops. Fully compressed length should be approx 14" (right now im about 15.25 to 15.5) from eyelet center to root of threaded stem so I'm going to cut the bump stops down by 1.25".

The black dust cover snaps on and off so I'll pull it down and carefully trim the bump stop.

No biggie but definitely glad I double checked or I'd be bouncing on bump stops all day.
