Default Suspension Questions

i have stock springs and suspension but i want to match the rear height to the front stock height.

will this harm the handling of the car? or will it mess with anything else?
a friend of mine said it can mess your axels up. but i see so many people slamming 350z that it seems that it would be more well known if anything negative came from it

Search for rear "spring mount mod." No harm done.

thanks advanZ33, but i dont want to cut springs.
i would be purchasing some new springs, probably Eibach or SWIFT. im just wondering if i put only springs will it harm it in the long run.
i heard to do it right you need to get springs, shocks, struts and then a wheel alignment.

if its gonna cost a small fortune to make it work right, just to get a .5-1." drop on the rear id rather just leave it the way it is to keep its reliability in the later years of my 350

Default Lowering Questions

looking to lower my 08 350z, i want the back to sit the same height as the front.

i like how high the front sits stock, so im looking for springs to make the back sit the same height as the front.

not looking to slam my car being i live in new orleans and that would tear up the car within days.

a lot of springs i look at have the front sitting lower than the back and it looks weird imo. im running 18" rims, and i want an even ride height.

If you had searched, you would know that has nothing to do with cutting springs. Good luck with whatever you plan to do. Bye.

Nissan build the car to be a completaly balanced. They've build cars/Z's for decades. My car (08Z) has ALL stock suspension and it lookes like everything matches & car handles great. So I doen't really understand what you want to match.

Will change the weight distro a little bit, but the spring mount mod doesn't hurt much

andre, if you look at the nissan website it states that ride height in the rear is slightly higher than the front. im looking to even it out so it sits more like

the hotchkis springs

http://www.hotchkis.net/350z_sport_coil_springs.html

states that it lowers the back slightly lower than the front, this is to give the car a more even stance. im looking to make the line work of the car to be parallel with the road.

my overall question was if i put these springs on, will it make my car need more maintenance or will it harm any of the mechanics of the cars messing with the ride height. i hear it can mess with your axels depending on how low you take the car.
im new to modding so i came on here to see if anyone knew instead of endlessly searching the web to in the end post a thread anyway.

Do you have STOCK wheels? Factory sized tires?

What makes you think that it's not parrallel? With stock size wheels & tires, the car is parrallel, or perfect. Just because the front bumper is lower, doesn't mean it's not parrallel. You might be trying to fix something that's not broken.

no i have aftermarket rims, 18"

i plasti dipped the rims from chrome to matte black last night and noticed the back sits slightly higher, its just the way the stock car is made. my mustang was the same way.

im speaking of the gap between wheel and body panel.

Your car looks perfectly balanced. If you mean that the front bumper is lower than the rear, then the answer is that it was designed that way. Don't like it, then cut a piece off.....

Yea don't just get rear springs. Do the springmount mod instead.
