Default Problem With oem rotors/Pads, need help/advice...

I own a 2003 touring with about 30k on it. I recently had to change a wheel stud and while doing so noticed the rear side of the rotors did not look like they were wearing right at all. The pads themselves seem appear to be only about half way done. Not being an expert on the topic i snapped some quick pics to show the front and back of the rotors hoping somebody could give me a little help. (Both the fronts looked exactly like this, did not get a chance to check the rear rotors)

Here is the front side (seems ok to me)

And Here is the rear side of the same rotor,

Did some research and pretty much read that many people have problems with the oem pads and rotors wearing out quickly. I just wanted some better insight as to make sure the problem isn't deeper than that.

Would just upgrading to some better aftermarket pads and having the rotors cut help this problem, or would upgrading the pads and rotors really be the only option at this point? Thanks in advance for any help!

Your caliper might be shot, try to compress it with a C-clamp

They def aren't completely shot, as they still function ok. They may not be applying even pressure though so that could be the problem. I'm hoping its a cheaper fix and has to do with the rotors or pads though doesn't make sense that the calipers on such a gently used and low mileage car would be shot already

Maybe just try getting some new rotors and pads for the front. Rotors should be 15-20 bucks.

Yea that's most likely what I will try. Just figured I'd see if anybody else on here had a similar problem before spending any money
