Rear bushing question
Are the rear bushings a *must have* on part?
Have been hearing different inputs saying yes and no, so would like to open this question to see what others think.

Yes they are. I mean, the car will run without them, and it's not vital like say a water pump or alternator. The bushing consists of an outer metal sleeve, a rubber bushing and an inner metal sleeve. Without the bushing, the metal ends of the control arm would be mounted to the frame and cause metal-to-metal contact. This would cause major clunking as the car goes over bumps on the road. It gives you a more manageable and quiet ride.
If you don't have any bushings, besides a loud and uncomfortable ride, it will also affect your handling negatively and give you poor alignment and camber. It also leads to poor tire wear and control.

^ also, for what use??? daily driving...no, autoX....sure, road racing, Yes...
form follows function...
if your rear diff bushings is blown - leaking on the subframe, then yes for any instance...etc..etc....
if you just want all the neat things then no.....
more info needed...

Yeah sorry for the lack of info. It's the bushing where the bolt connects to the coil? So is that the rear lower control arm? And my Z is for daily driving.

Not needed untill they are worn out or if you want to reduce stiction on a track car. Same with the rest of the rear suspension bushings except for the shock mount on the spindle if you run a true coilover.

I guess that would be where the shock attaches to the rear axle. It looks like this bushing - see courtesyparts.com

This is the answer to your question. Whiteline, Nismo and SPL all offer them. Very simple to swap.
