Default issue after installing bbk

Hey i'm new to this forum (and 350z world in general) bought a 2008 350z about a month ago. I bought akebono bbk and install them myself. I don't have a lot of knowledge about cars in general, however I have install front brakes and rotor before so thought this wouldn't be much different. The install went fine (as far as I can tell) however I now have a grinding/high pitch squeaking sound while going slow and turning right. I thought it was only right until today it made the same sound while going slow and taking a hard left. (backing out of parking lots is when I hear it) I also could of sworn I heard the sound while going straight and turning however I can't recreate that anymore. I checked double checked x10 everything from caliper to rotor, to dust shield, to brake lines and there no marking on anything that would indicate something scraping. I just order some new front Wheel Hub Assembly and hoping it may be a bad bearing? What gets me is that this noise was nonexistence prior to putting on the akebono bbk. Like I said i'm definitely no expert so if anything comes to mind would love to hear it. Thanks

Well I would look at your dust shields again. After cutting my dust shields to fit the Akebono kit, I found a spot that was touching the rotor when I put in on the hub. Luckily this was before I buttoned it all back up so it was any easy fix.

Not sure what else it could be.

The shield making noise only when in reverse and turning? Also when the car is jacked up I can turn the wheel to where it would make the grinding/scraping sound but it doesn't do it when jacked up, or I haven't been able to recreate it when jacked up. If it turns out to be the dust shields then I guess I didn't need the bearing but might as well throw them on now and just completely remove the dust shield while i'm at it. Also forgot to mention that the grinding is strong enough to stop my car. When I say stop my car I mean when I let off the parking brake and the car slowly starts to roll back, if I turn slightly the grinding sound will happen and it will grind my car to a halt. obviously if I give it any sort of gas tho I can easily power through it.

Ok so I pulled out the rotor and looked inside (was in the middle of changing bearings) and I found out whats happening. Is this a warped rotor? What is causing this? I double check the torque for the bracket and it's set at 75 foot pounds.

after changing the wheel hub assembly the rotor rubbed harder than ever on the bolt. For a temp fix I removed the washer on the bolt, it suppose to have 2 washer on it I took the big one off and left the lock washer. Hopefully everything will be fine like that for now.

Typically the bolts thread from the other side.

You might want to remove that bolt and kit asap and get it installed properly. There is a lot of tq on those bolts.

good luck.

looks like either a bad install or crappy bracket design

They originally sent me the kit for the 300zx (bolts just didn't fit at all) then I called them and they sent me the 350z bolt kit. I think it has something to do with the rotor because the pass front has the same exact bolts mounted the exact same way with no issue. This is the CzP mount and from what I can see (just looked over the instructions again) everything is mounted correctly.

I also have the CZP mounts but I can't honestly say I remember which way the bolts go. Regardless, they shouldn't look like that!

At least you know where the issue is. I don't think you are supposed to have a washer on the outside of that moonshape piece. Only on the inside against where the bracket is. Maybe that's your problem.

no its very lightly scratched on the bolt head, I should of took a picture higher up cause the picture make it look way worse then it is. I would say about 95% of the top half of the bolt head is left, while the bottom is not touched.

ya the bolts that hold the caliper in thread from the back, the bolts you see in front are the ones that hold the bracket in. CzP instructions show the bolts holding the bracket go in the front while the 2 bolts that hold the caliper go in from the back. Caliper not on obviously but you can see the bracket has 2 more holes on it, that would be where the caliper mounts.

the order of my washer starting from back to front was CzP bracket, half moon adapter, big washer, lock washer, then bolt. I took the big washer off to stop the scraping yesterday.
