Default Adjusting adjustable end links

Somehow I posted this in the 370z area, but here it is.

1) With the car at rest disconnect one end of one end link on each axle. This will remove any torsional load on the sway bar.
2) Loosen the jam nuts and adjust the end link until it can be re-connected without moving the sway bar from its resting position.

I understand all of the above, but I can't find what the "resting" position is. The sway bar itself swivels about 90 degrees when not connected to any end links, so what is the correct position or angle to place the sway bar?

Shorten endlinks, do the above but only remove 1 side. Adjust to install the endlinks with no load on it

I understand the basis of the procedure, my question is my car is now lower than stock, how should the end of the sway bar be oriented, for example, should the end where the holes are be parallel to the ground, 45 degrees upward, etc. Because the end links are adjustable I am able to connect the sway bar with no pre load in a variety of different angles, which is the right one?

Also, I'm no physicist, but I'm assuming that by changing this angle when the car is in it's resting position it probably has some sort of effect on the amount of force on either the bar or end link which is why I'd like to try and get it right.

As you lower the car you need to shorten the endlinks to get the angle back to stock, well the endlinks are short from the factory. At the shortest setting, it's hardly shorter than stock.

You're not helping or answering his question at all.

He's asking what angle the sway bar should be positioned at in regards to the rest of his suspension components.

Even with one side disconnected, the other attached side can still be shortened or lengthened and in turn position the actual sway bar at different angles. Then the other side can be adjusted to slide back into the lower control arm hole with no preload.

My guess would be to attempt to get the ends of the sway bars positioned parallel to the ground, but that's just my guess and will probably be the route I go with when I install my Whitelines.

sway bar ends should be horizontal... end links should be as vertical as possible.

the reason is because it makes application of forces more linear at right angles

As kinda mentioned above, not really possible with the Z. The endlinks would need to be an inch shorter than they are made

Brand new endlinks pop too. Im not sure if too long or too short. They went in easy and seemed to have no load yet after 1 day the driver front and pass rear pop. Anyone have any tips...

only thing i can say is check everything for any wear/contact and make sure the mounting bushings are greased and tight. Also the Jam nuts need to be as tight as possible. Check where it bots to the arm and sway and make sure they didnt come loose. A lot of guys tend to have that issue on occasion with it coming loose on them

Ahh thanks sir. Jam nuts were hand tight only. Tightened them after straightening the link as it turned. So far so.good.

I've got to re-adjust my ones on Saturday as I've been getting some little clunk sounds when at very slow parking maneuvering speeds.

I think this picture gives you the idea as well as what others have said.
