Your in a bunch of threads asking for DYI, if you need DYI for the stuff you were asking maybe just take it somewhere to have it done. It's a caliper swap, take off two bolts put two longer ones

thats because there a lot of thing needing to be done that i dont want to shell out $$ for that i can do myself. Ive never needed brackets for brake calipers so i wasnt sure how it was done.
Too many posts talking about reducing brake distance. Tires control the majority of that.
Bigger brakes = less brake fade.
I noticed nothing but looks when I swapped 03 brakes to 07 with ceramic pads and SS lines. Went to the track and my tires were giving out before the brakes.

Then you have never changed brakes and done rotors
two bolts, remove caliper
two more, remove caliper bracket
(Sometimes) remove two screws holding rotor in place
Cut dust shield
place new rotor
bolt on bracket with supplied bolts
bolt on caliper to bracket with new bolts
so does the akebono bracket come with the kit or do i need to separately order it? anyone know of a write up on the swap? google let me down.
Depends on who you buy from. Just as a motivation that was my first ever brake work. Just take your time and understand the process before you start. Read the Diy on replacing stock brakes with brembos. That is a good start on understanding the process. Akebonos are slightly different but not much. You will need to bleed them when done. On the other hand don't do it if you don't feel comfortable. It is your life

i just saw a write up on here after digging around in the diy. looks fairly simple and strait forward.
ConceptZPerformance has made good instructions. Just google it. As said it's guite simple. Bleeding was a ***** until I got some help to press the pedal.

For future reference....
No DIY garage lurker should be without one of these:
Seriously, have no clue how I ever convinced my wife to "pump it up and hold it"!!
Thats a waste of money. Just look up how to self-bleed online and you'll find several videos on how to do it using just a bottle and hose. $70+ could be spent on better pads or towards SS lines.

To each one's own.
I used the old soda bottle and tubing method in a pinch back in the day but it gets tricky when you have a dual bleed caliper (ask me how I know).
The Motive's positive pressure doesn't waste a lot of expensive Motul fluid either nor stand the chance of sucking back in any of the old fluid from the drain bottle from an open bleeder on pedal return.
And since I already have my Carbotechs, stainless lines, big calipers, and carbon rotors, why would I want to take a chance on air or bad fluid introduced back into the system?
But like I inferred, I like to have the right tools at hand for any job and the Motive works great for me.
Obviously i knew, that's why i asked who removed it and who trimmed it. I don't need a simple DYI for brakes so your attempt to get me has failed.
I'm sure the shield is there for a reason. So i ask to see if anybody without it had any extra dust issues or something like that
My shield was trimmed in the front. Couldn't tell you how much it contributed to additional brake dust because I got different pads when the akebonos went on.
Yeah i think that is also a problem in figuring out if they do anything, the change of pads
i know my current PosiQuite are possibly the most dusty pads I've ever had on a car. I'll definitely be aiming towards a track pad when i do this upgrade next year
