next time when somebody's brakes fail because the piston wall gets marred from bad QC we'll just chalk it up to 'shiiit happens'
my point is that I expect brake vendors to be held at a much higher standard because they engineer and make safety equipment. Improper cleaning after machine work is a pretty bad oversight and 'shiit' happens isn't an excuse.

Reason: trying to highlight a larger point...
didn't call stoptech, didn't care to. Whats the point? I am already tearing it down and rebuilding it.
I came here to document the poor QC, thats all. I guess my expectations are miss placed and I should keep my pointless threads out of the pointless forum.

No! There are some of us who appreciate what some might consider useless and pointless. I, for one, know that when I'm in the middle of teardown and find an anomaly of the sort you pointed out - that is, something that may be useful to someone out there - whether it's germane to others or not - it's worth documenting.
No, this isn't something that's likely to happen to others - probably a very slim chance; but since someone (the advertisers and the people who run this and the other forums) are letting us use their storage space and computing facilities sans fees, why not put it out there? It just might help someone who's doing what you did.
