Default Rookie question... Spring rates?

Good afternoon from the east coast - new to the forums and suspension in general... I usually ask the facebook 350z group if I have any questions but I've never dealt with a bunch of ignorant, immature people in my life... I'm hoping this isn't the same lol.

I just bought a brand new set of Fortune Auto 500 Series coilovers off craigslist. 10K springs in the front, but 12k in the rear. I find this a little unusual because, from my own research, our 350z will induce oversteer if the rear is stiffer than the fronts. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Now my question is... should I even be worried about these spring rates for a DD/spirited driving? Or am I overthinking it? And here is my extra noob question: can I swap the front springs with the rears (flamesuit ON) and call it a day? Or are they completely different springs? 12K/10K sounds better than 10K/12K... OR should I just go ahead and buy 10K rear springs from Fortune Auto and have a 10K square setup? I hear it's a good balance for a DD and occasional track.

Again, sorry I'm still new at this; just want the best set up for my Z. Thanks for your help.

First and most important question, are the rear springs mounted on the damper or in the OEM location ?

OEM location

Great looking pup, can't wait to get out if my condo and into a house to bring a Shepard into my family

You will be fine as is. They are modeled after the 04.5 spring rates, and the added rear spring rate will help with understeer. There is no perfect suspension and there are many ways to achieve a similar result. The spring rates are a bit on the stiffer side and IMO better for wider than stock wheels and sticky tires.

Mount them, try them out. If the car is to close to neutral handling for you (doubt it would be an oversteer situation, only throttle induced oversteer ) you can swap the springs around front to rear and see how you like that.

Wow, thank you... I appreciate the help. +1 for the forums lol I think it's time to retire from the facebook group...

I have some 255 wide Continental tires on the rears right now (on stocks) for my winter setup but I am looking into getting some 10.5 rears wrapped in 275 or 285 rubbers in the summer.

Shepherds are life changers man, I'm getting another this summer. Just make sure you have plenty of lint rollers in-hand and a state of the art vacuum lol they shed like CRAZY!

Always been around them, just never had one on my own.

Facebook is fun, but to many idiots. Only 1% to 2% of the people actually know what their doing.
