Default Thoughts on my 2005 350z Alignment results?

  • I replaced the upper control arms with the kind that has adjustments for camber...the car is not lowered .
  • replaced lower control arms with stock type units
  • replaced lower ball joints
  • replaced outer tie rods
I don't think there is much that can be done with caster, other than new Compression Rods (how did they come up with that name for those arms?) And I don't think there are any adjustable arms for that.

The car had spent at least half of its life in NJ and shows evidence of rusted bolts and nuts....super PIA...it lives in FL now.

It looks like the tech was fighting with the rusted bolts and stuff as evident of the notes on the post alignment sheet of results.

Get new bolts. They run about $20 with washer and nut at the dealer. They will snap taking them off.

good idea...will do....any thoughts on the front caster Compression Arms? That bracket that bolts up to the uni-body that sandwiches the compression rods' ends is a bit rusty.... a little nervous loosening those bolts.

Should be ok, I think that's the front brace, similar purpose to the rear W or M brace. Usually the rust is around the brace itself and doesn't extend to the other side where the bolt is captured.

For caster adjustment, if it's still way out of spec after replacing bushings, you would need to get adjustable upper control arms I think.
