Z32 (300ZX) Brakes on a 350Z?
I know many of you guys are very familar with the previous gen Z32...thats one model we just never got into at our shop, so hoping some of you can share some info!
I got a terrific deal on a set of AP brakes for a Z32. They are complete with pads, lines, calipers, rotors and brackets. It was a very good deal, so i jumped on it. Just wondering what, if anything, I'll need to do to get these to fit?
As I recall from way back when, an upgrade for the Z32 was brakes from a Skyline. In Japan, many of the aftermarket BBK's are the same for previous gen Skyline's and Z33, so I was hoping these might also fit.
Anyone have any info they might be able to share. My biggest "concern" is the bracket - I am hoping it goes on with as little fuss as possible. I figure new brake lines will almost be a necessity, unless the length happens to work out of the box!
Thanks in advance!
Adam

I've been wondering about this for a while...
the Z32, S13, S14, and various flavors of the Skyline (R32-34, I think) all share the same brake dimensions and can share brakes.
If the Z33 can take the same brake kits, I'm set, because most of the kits available for those cars are far less expensive than the Z33 kits.

Evereything will bolt up fine. You can even most likely use the same brake lines.
What you will need to do, and I dont know if its possible with the brackets you have, is use about a 1/4" spacer to lift the caliper up so the top of the pad sits flush with the lip of the rotor. If the bracket you have is a radial mount design, you maybe be able to get away with using the same bracket and replacing the existing bolts with longer ones. If the calipers are an ear mount design, you will need to make new ones.
Hope this helps

At some point I may try to locate a 2 piece rotor, just for looks purposes, but for now, these will suffice

just a quick update - brakes are on the car now, and everything, including the brackets, fit without modifications of any kind.
Was even able to use the brake lines, though we had to zip tie them for now due toa different overall design vs the factory setup (which is very nicely done with its multiple blocks/brackets).
I'll ahve new lines fabbed up at some point, but no real rush for me at this point.
Got a fresh set of Hawk HPS's to finalize it all, and the maiden voyage is soon...just about done with the install.
Thanks for your help on this guys!

finally got some pics
Here is a picture of them installed
This weekend I am going to take some time and sand down the raised "AP Racing" lettering so they stand out a bit more.
The brakes, simply put, kick major booty....very happy with this combo and Hawk HPS pads.

I would assume that the Z32 NA and Z32 TT brakes would all bolt on to the car yes.
Z32 = 1990-1996 300ZX chassis code
Z33 = 2003 and up 350Z chassis code
