Wow, each system each takes totally different approaches to tuning. IMO the Jic's would be the track star of the two, many people that run them comment they are on the harsh side. Take and look at the spring rate logic on each and how they effect the roll stiffness balance front to rear.

Jic flta-2 350Z
Front 560lbs Rear 672lbs
Balance to oem spring rates F+78% R+98%
Transfers +20% to rear

Cusco Zero 2
Front 560lbs Rear 392lbs (no the rear springs are NOT on the dampner bodies, they are in the oem location).
F+78% R+15%
Transfers +63% to front

I know of one person running the Cusco Zero 2's, (G35 coupe ) he likes them, but I did not get the impression he's into pushing the car much, so I didn't see reason to press for more imput.

wow, why was I under the impression that the rear springs were on the dampener body with the Cusco's? I thought cusco would be more track and performance oriented but it appears not. Looks like JIC's would be the better route.

I have the Zero 2 on mine, and we have done a few of them so far - definately a nice setup overall, and much less choppy on the street than the JIC's were.

I have driven 2 Z's so far with Zero 2's on the track, but not my own car yet.

The JICs HURT...

Unless you're into a VERY rough ride, do not get them...

However, the first corner or track day you attend... you'll quickly remember why you put up with that roughness!

Z1 auto,

I had the Zero2R's on my S14...what is the different between the zero2 and the zero2R? How did the Zero2's feel on the track in the other 2 Z's you rode in??

im not sure if this would be true with the Z, but i have driven on some tein HE's, JiC flt-a2's, Apexi n1 pro, Zeal v6, and Cusco Zero2R in a 240...and in my opinion the Zeal and cusco were the best!
They were both very nice and stiff, but had better valving than the others. The spring rate and valving were matched perfectly in the cusco and zeals. The tein HE's(only made for silvias and 7's), and the spring rate and valving were horrible. The cuscos's and zeals were stiffer than both of them, as well as being smoother than both. The Jics felt stiff, but didnt feel as smooth as the zeals and cuscos...so in my opinion I would take Zeal or cusco.

also, if anyone has the Z33 hyper REv, there is a comparison on coilovers, its like a big comparison between, cusco, tein, aragota, el paso(?), JIC, and 2 other IIRC...but i have notice that alot of different setups in the hyper rev are tuned totally different.
Why do some setups use the OEM rear spring seat ONLY? some of the use the spring on the rear coilover and OEM rear spring seat. What is the difference? how could this effect the ride?

also, why do the spring rates very so much. I understand how spring rates work, but I have seen most cars with more of a consistant spring rate across different companies...and in the Z33, there are a good about where the rear is stiffer...

When picking coilovers how do you know which company to choose with all these different spring rates? I mean a stiffer spring rate in the front or rear induces either over- or understeer, but a coilover is not always based on spring rates alone...its all about the valving of the damper and the way they work with the spring rate. How can you predict how a set of coilovers is going to feel against another...I mean with My s14, most of the coilovers were more consistant with the spring rates, so all you had to do is pick a good manufacturer that is known for its R&D and ask around about how the damper's valving feels...

maybe someone can shed some more light on this subject....
Jon
