I just called Hotchkis about their spring rates and the tech guy said he'll try to upload the rates to their website by tomorrow.

Very interesting. I just looked at the Hotchkis website and they have the numbers up already. One thing I'm not too sure of though is the stock spring rate numbers they have. Not accussing anyone of anything, just a bit different than what I thought they were.

Front Front 9/16" (15mm) Drop
340 lbs/in
Stock 310lbs/in

Rear 3/4" (19mm) Drop
330 lbs/in
Stock 350 lbs/in

i emailed them and thats what they sent me too,

quote:
Correction. R&D just sent me some info. that was in my mail box.
Here's the information for the 350Z coil set.

Frt: lowers the car approx 0.6" (15mm). The functional Hotchkis Tuning spring rate is 340 lbs/in, where as the stock coil is 310 lbs/in. This coil is a single rate coil.

Rr: lowers the car approx 0.75 (19mm). The functional Hotchkis Tuning spring rate is 330 lbs/in, where as the stock coil is 350 lbs/in. This coil is a single rate coil

We balanced out the car to make it less pitchy on the freeway, and less likely to get tail happy during extreme manuevers.
end quote

i thought they would increase the rears too, so i guess this will make the car understeer more then stock? i might just get the sways instead, i was thinking about the tvs stage one kit. I see on their website they have stage 2 and 3 for other cars, maybe something new is still in the works.
peace

WOW, just drove home on the freeway where there is a lot of undulation and uneven surfaces, normally I bob up and down like a bobble head (or a civic with NO suspension), this time is was much much better. I do think they help the bounce now

if those spring rates are correct, then I'd rather just use Koni shocks and stick with the stock springs.

Interesting info.
