oiii... most shocks blow due to old age... some shocks blow from overheating ie.. taking it to a track and the suspension is doing alot of moving around up and down and the heat slowly wear away at strut.
When the car is lowered, the shocks get compressed more than what it's designed for and the valve/seal can't handle the pressure.
I blew mine @11K Mi (w/ 1 track day) with Eibach + stock shocks. Got TEIN basic now and it's better than my previous setup.
