Question Does my Enthusiast need new brakes for the Dragon?

hello all,
Ok some basic info...I drive my car pretty hard, but no where near its limits on a daily basis. (it is still the street) I have not done any auto-x but would really enjoy it if I had the chance. I am going up to the ZDAYZ Tail of the Dragon and plan on have a GREAT thime there driving through the twisties. I have driven mountain road before and really enjoy pushing the car. So I was thinking that this would be the perfect time for a little brake upgrade, not to mention a lot less dust. I cannot afford to get with a kit, but I was thinking a good set of pads and new fluid. My limit is $350ish for everything, and I can do the work myself. So with that said and the general idea of what I need what would you all suggest? I've seen Greenstuff and Redstuff and Hawk but have no idea what the difference is, or which one would be best for me. Please Help!!

Thanks,
Jeff

Hawk = great grip, good wear, SQUEAL on the street
Greenstuff = great grip, wears out quicker but less dust, Quiet on the street
(info gathered from this and other forums...no personal experience...opinions may differ)

I think the Hawk HP+ pads are the ones that squeak but they are meant for track driving.
The Hawk HPS Streets are meant for the street, have a little less braking power than the HP+'s, dont squeal, have great wear, and have little dust.

also info gathered from this sight.

Best pads I have experienced. I tried the Hawk HP+ and the Stillen pad, but nothing close to these pads. I use the Bobcat for the street and the Panther for the track. The Panthers are not good for daily driving, lots of squeeling.

I'll second that recommendation for the Carbotech pads. The Bobcats should be perfect for what you're looking for. I use them on the street, and the Panther XP for the track.

I had Hawk HPS before the Bobcats, and they were pretty decent. Low dust and a good level of initial bite for the street. If I had to choose I'd take the Bobcats over the HPS though.

No offense bro... but for what we're going to be doing on the Dragon, your brakes are fine.

If you start going crazy enough that you need something beyond stock pads, count me out.

LOTS of people have lost their cars, and lives on this road... Let's play smart.
