Stoptech Big Brake Kit?
My cousin is looking to upgrade his brakes for track purposes. He want the Stoptech set, but can't afford the price at this moment. I've been searching for him and came across this site(http://www.hopupracing.com/st143bigbrki1.html). Is anyone familiar with this company? It seems rather questionable to me as the price is really low.
They are legit.. I've ordered a couple of moderate items from them..
Would I order again? probably not.. They don't seem to answer their email and you always have to call them to get in touch with anyone... There's also no online tracking of your order and you have to keep bugging them about order status and things like that..
Any of the other really good online retailers like performancenissanparts.com will price match anyone.. I'd rather stick to someone like that as they are very active on this forum..

they are a site sponsor. if they were screwing people, we would have heard by now.
but, have him check with jason or jeff at performance nissan. they can usually beat or match anyones prices on everything, and are very reputable.

all your cousin needs is the 332mm x32mm front kit... that will be more than enough brake upgrade for anyone doing track events, and you can find them for way less than $2k
the 355mm, 4-wheel kit is great for looks but really does not add much in the way of braking improvement... unless your cousin plans to run in next year's 24 Hours at Daytona or LeMans....

I've told him that, but he wants a 4-wheel kit. Will Stoptech be releasing a 13" front and back kit anytime soon??

I have the 14.1" all around and they are great, and got them from Jason at Perf Nissan. Excellent price, and if you resell your present set that will help cut down the damage a bit. I track the car so I got all four, but unless you track it, you should save yourself the dough because you will otherwise never need the extra capacity. Remember, in a panic stop scenario the difference in braking between the brembos and the bbk is only modestly better. The benefit in the bbk is the ability to stand up to the heat gains in the repeated demands of a track circuit, when stock systems get overheated and start to fade, boil fluid, generate pressure leaks in the lines etc. More than 70% of the braking is up front. Even StopTech has an article from their Techs that says you don't need to have the back set done! Go to their web site and peruse their collection of research pieces, it is really beneficial to do so. www.stoptech.com
Good luck and be safe.
This is not an authorized reseller of our products. They are also in violation of our no advertising below list price rule. I would not buy our brakes from them. You will receive no support from us. If you need a good reseller in your area, please contact me at Jeff@stoptech.com. Many good resellers are on this board as well.
