Do slotted or drilled rotors shorten the life of your pads? My friend told me they do but i have no clue. Thanks.

I've read the slotted rotors are hard on pads as the pads dig into the slots. I think it really depends on how you drive. The drilled rotors are supposed to dissipate heat better than the slotted ones, but I would think they would be harder on pads than just normal rotors, ie. not drilled or slotted.

Yes they will but how much is unknown and also depends on your driving habits. Even though there are no rough edges on the slots or holes they still have a minor grinding effect on the pad.
