Im in the same boat... this is not right if you ask me. I know its a sports car, but what cars out there wear pads this quickly. I wasn't even hard on them. The dealer tried to tell me this is normal wear. If so this car is ridiculous in terms of affordability. 200 bucks to change your pads every year at the dealer???? This is a ripoff.

I just got a bill for 405.00 front pads and warpped rotors... I was thinking if I had to deal out the cash for the two front tires that were making more noise than a firetruck in heat, I'd be out a grand before my first year of driving was done... I had to replace both rotors... I'm about ready to sale the car. I love it, but I'm getting to pissed off at how poorly it was made. My wife who drives a hyundi is laughing all the way to the bank, she's had her Santa Fe for 3 years without a problem, in fact her tires and breaks still look very good... I'm just thinking for the money, we all should be able to drive worry free for a pretty long time... Does anyone know if there is a TSB out on this, there should be. I'm not going to spend 200-400 a year doing this.

Barz,
If I'm understanding your question, yes the Stillen brakes system is a better value if you plan to keep your car for more then 4 years... This is a hard pill to take, the stillen system cost about 2,200 dollars plus tax. I just replaced my rotors and front pads at 18,800 miles. It cost as I wrote in this thread 405 dollars. It was going to cost almost 500 but I calmly explained to the service manager that I didn't spend 35,000 dollars on a car to pour 400 a year back into it as "normal maintance". In reading this thread, I'm seeing that not only are the fronts showing wear around 15-20,000 miles, but the rear breaks are as well. If I would have put shoes and rotors at all four corners, I'd have been out almost 1,000 dollars. Times that by 4 and you can see where the stillens pay for themselves in a couple of years. I'm hearing people who have 40,000 on the stillens with no problems at all. I haven't a clue if it's true or not, just that I've read it throughout the different forms. What are you're plans, are you going to go after market. I almost wish I'd have had them button the car back up and lived with the squeek for awhile until we could set up a group buy. I'm still on the fence in regard to keeping the car, but if we could get a group buy going, that would take some of the edge off of things. The stillen system seems to be a great aftermarket product.

My pads ...rotors after 12k miles are completly shot. SO i got a letter from Infiniti saying they can do them for free, but i thought for a while and said why am i gonna switch it for the same crap over and over. Might as well invest a bit and get better stuff.
SO i did. Hopefully this week i can put it on and test it out. Sometimes stuff from factory is not always the best way to go. especialy if you planing to keep your car for a long time.
