Question Recommended wear - in period for new pads and rotors?

I have a question for the board. If I changed to brand new brake pads and brake rotors, what is the recommended period (in terms of time or miles) for properly bedding in these new components before the car is ready to take on a HPDE weekend?
TIA

Just go out and bed them in and you are set to go.

Go on a clear road and do about 6-8 brakes from 60-30 then another 6-8 from 40 to stop and then park it to cool off for at least 30 minutes or better leave it overnight.

I think that covers it from what I remember.

1. If these are street pads, DO NOT take them on a road course. You will take them above their max operating temp and they will deposit pad material all over your new rotors in an uneven manner. You will then develop a nasty vibration that you will potentially be unable to resolve without buying new rotors. Buy some good race pads (PFC, PAGID, HAWK, etc.) and swap them in before tracking the car.

2. Here's a brief article on Bed-in that Dave Zeckhausen put together. StopTech will be releasing a more in-depth procedure very soon, that goes further behind the scene to answer questions about the how's and why's.

http://zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm

Let me know if you have any questions.
