I'm ready to order an '05 at $500 under invoice, which is $3,500 under MSRP.
Whenever you go to sell it, the '04 will carry a resale value of at least $3000 less than an '05 as it is a year older on the books. This eats into half of the $6000 discount.
The interest rate on the '04 is 2% vs 4.5% on the '05.
SO, this is the deciding factor as to which is the better deal.
I'm fanancing $18k, so the small interest savings on the 2% do not make up the difference for me.
The '05 is a better deal for me.
IT DEPENDS on each persons situation.
omg, do not, i repeat do not go to Cerrit-hoes nissan because they will rape you and leave you out on the street. lol i went there just because it was the closest dealership and i had a bad taste in my mouth! funny thing was i got my Z from a different dealer but it was from a dealer trade from cerrit-hoes nissan. 6k off from probably the Z's that they put aftermarket parts on.

that's a catch...if it was $6000 below INVOICE then that's a different story, but below MSRP...well they can jack up the MSRP to any amount they want and then cut $6000 off so you think you're getting a heck of a deal when in the end you're still paying a little above or at invoice. Heck a newspaper ad in my area (Riverside) said $5000 off MSRP today. They're just trying to lure you in. Save for the 05's cuz they will retain better resale value even if they might cost a slight bit higher initially

yeah the 04 vs 05 thing is a pay now or pay later thing. Now if they advertise MSRP that is a set number from Nissan. Many dealerships add an addendum or bump sticker, now with that said they can advertise like this
"2004 Nissan 350z...$6,000 OFF"
That could simply be 6k off of the 3k bump sticker over true msrp and then don't forget they will then add in a large dealer fee of somewhere in the 600-1000 range most likely

That is an impossible deal. There is NO WAY they can sell a Z for $6K under MSRP.
What they are probably doing is selling it for $6K under their ‘sticker’ price. If you have the time it would be interesting to go see how much CRAP they have added to the MSRP. If you really wanted to mess with them go in and offer them $6K under MSRP listed on Nissan’s sticker and watch the BS fly.
As others have mentioned I’d stay away from a dealership that plays those types of games.
