Default Need help with car buying

The Z is my favorite car, but at the same time it is a bit out of my finance. I'm 21 years old so i have experience in driving for 5 years now and no accidents or tickets and i already have over 40,000 miles driven BY ME (total miles is a lot) on the hyundai accent i got from my older sister which is now showing some signs of aging and my parents want to get me to help get a new car... so it'll be payment by me and parents.

well looking at how much i get and my parents we settled at 20,000 dollars before taxes and other fees... basically 20,000 sticker price.

Now other cars at that price after negotiation that i am considering are Ford Mustang 05 or wait for the honda civic Si 06. Other cars are something i will consider, but i'm a fan of japanese car reliability and mustang reliability (although a bit shaky)... i dont really like european or other american cars like GM.

I was wondering is the Nissan 04 used base coupe going to go for that sticker price after negotiation? i was thinking 03 till i found out about the feathering issue. I'm going to go on a limb and say that used cars will probably have feathering issue since i think most of them will get fed up with the 350Z having that issue... sell to dealer and get a G35c. Otherwise unlikely that they will be selling the car.

So do 2004 models also have that issue? I know the 2005 is for sure fixed, but i dont think i will ever be able to get it to 20k sticker price.

i can only pay about ~350 a month after taxes and everything and put about 8,000 down. so i'm going to have to find some really low interests if i can get one above 20,000 dollars.

First time buying... my parents always got ripped off dealers because they can't speak english so i'm going to stay there all day if i have to in order to get a good deal. What are the best ways to negotiate or lead to sites that can help.

I really want the 350Z but wondering how low i can get them to go on 2004 or 2005 base. I don't have a car with traction control and i was fine without it so getting lowest cost for 350Z will be best. thanks

I don't know if you'll be able to get them down that much. The retail on a few sites states it at ~ 25k and the trade in value itself is ~20k. They do indeed need to make some money on the deal. I'm also going by prices in my area, so you need to check your own out.

Some 04's will have a problem with the feathering, yes. But not even all the 2003's do it. It really goes by the individual car.

One tip, dont talk about payments with them. Don't even mention that. Talk price what you pay out the door. Check out www.carbuyingtips.com they have some pretty good info.

I say 05's have the feathering as bad as the 04's...
