Yep and they don't offer it on any SRT models, Vettes, ect and none on the 06 Models.
Its is GM/Ford's/Chrysler saying, Please buy these POS's, because Hertz doesn't even want them! This is the only choice for them to clear the 05's!
I call it last ditch effort!
So hurry up people, go out and buy those Taurus's, Focus's!

How do you know what the employee price is anyways? You've got to know that the company needs to make money...even if they're selling their cars to their employees. So if the employee price is above invoice, then how much different is it from what we're paying? Just a thought...

For example, Chevorlet.com has a lil pop up calculator thing thing.
All I can say is on the site a few months ago it was a cool 40 plus for a Silverado SS. Wit the employee pricing its a lil above 30. But does that really mean anything?
SSR gets discounted...
On a side note, I was a Chevy guy...right until they felt the need to mass produce crap and discontinue the Camaro.

There's two "invoices": 1) Cost to Manufacturer 2) Cost to the Dealer
Employee pricing still contributes to the manufacturer's bottom line, but I'm sure they have to provide some type of kick back to the dealer. In most cases, when you hear "invoice," its referring to #2--the cost to the dealer.
Even then, I'm not sure how it is in the automotive industry, but many manufacturers provide certain incentives for dealers to buy model X with, let's say a lower cost. You may already have a few Xs on the lot with a higher cost and now you're adding one with a lower cost. So the dealer creates a "weighted average cost." This "WAC" allows them to discount all the Xs on the lot . . . With a rebate, the manufacturer simply returns a given amount on the number of vehicles sold.

When i was thinking about buyin a new '05 Z the sales person said that they'd give me a letter so that i'd be able to get the employee discount for the car if i bought it.
But then i just figured i might as well try and save as much $$$ as possible and bought a used '03.

if you want a car for a good deal with no negotiating, deal with the internet department. They will generally give you the car for 500 over invoice with no negotiating. I was able to get it to ab out 200 over invoice dealing with a salesman, but personally i think the 300 bucks was worth not dealing with that ********. The costco auto program is also a good way to do all that, also 500 over invoice. Check out edmunds.com for invoice pricing.

I think the pricing thing sort of has to do with the dealer. To compete here, I think that all of the dealerships are doing "employee pricing." I know that all of the dealerships are advertising it no matter what the make. I'm sure they have exclusions since they are doing it themselves though.
