Default Extended Warranty...??

I purchased one with my brandnew Z exactly 2 weeks ago 2day for $657 for 6yrs (the kind that has the very same coverage as the standard 3yr just extended to 6).

1st off, is/was that a good deal?

2nd, would that help increase value if I sold the z in about 3yrs to someone?

3rd, is there any way that I could get a full refund for it this soon after the purchase?

Thanks for any & all input!!

With respect. its a little late to ask.

No. Valve will decrease most rapidly to year number 3, then begin to taper off.

3rd, is there any way that I could get a full refund for it this soon after the purchase?

Do you have a 30 day return no questions asked warranty from the dealer? Why would you return such a fantastic car?

I got a full refund for the extended warranty, I waited a week too. You just have to fill out a form at the dealership to cancel it.

LOL. Guess I had better pay closer attention. Yes. Many extended warranties are refundable. The value is prorated, and you’ll take a big hit.

It was my bad, I wasn't clear the 1st time

Would I take a "big hit" or even any "hit" for that matter this early?...Or would I receive ALL $657 back (it was charged on a creditcard that has yet to be paid)?

Thanks again.

I would check with them. I had the extended warranty amount added to my loan. I went in a week later with a check [got a better loan through a credit union] and they gave me a full refund.

Edited to say: They quoted me around $1,000 too for the 6 year extended warranty.

$657?
That's low.

The dealer told me over 1k (don't remember exact price, i think it was around 1,200-1,500) and told me if I did it at time of purchase it would just be divided and added into my monthly payments or I could come back before factory warranty expires and purchase it for the same price.

I plan on, however, upgrading to an IS sometime in the next 24 months. (possibly, due to the limited rear/side visibility & lack of rear-seating)

I just got suckered into paying $2000 for a 36 month warranty on an '03 Track. The dealer told me he'd sell the car for $35,750 and that it came with a warranty. It wasn't until I got home and took a closer look at all the papers I signed that I realized I had payed $2000 on top of the $35,750 for the car. I guess that helps explain why the total amount came out to $30,000.

Until I read your post, I didn't mind that I had paid $2000 for it because I figured it's worth it for the peace-of-mind, and that when/if I sell it in the next few years it will add value. Now I'm thinking I paid way too much.

Good Lord you paid 2000$ for 6 yr warranty??? ( 3 plus 3 extended ). You could have gotten that for less than 1000$.

i paid $1,500 for my extended warranty, i feel like i paid way too much now. I bought the car Oct 1st, I got it for peace of mind because I do drive my Z hard, but is it really worth it?? I asked the finance guy if I could buy it later and he told me that if I decided to come back to purchase the warranty, it would be $2500! I feel like a sucker now. Is it even worth it? I've heard of problems with the motors for the powered windows, and transmissions being replaced, but is this covered in the standard 3 yr warranty already? i wonder if I can get a refund or prorate my warranty. It would save me a bundle.

Wow, $657 for 6 years. I paid $1000. Plan to keep the car for longterm so paying 2% more of car total cost to double the warranty timeframe is good deal to me.

you should be able to get a full refund (-$25) if you bought it oct 1st. you can cancel warranty with in 90days. but even after the 90 days you can get a prorate.
