New guy with questions
Hey guys, This is my first post ever! lol yay i know you guys dont care b/c I dont really care. Anyways I have a few questions, how good is the reliability of the 350z. I was looking into the Evo 9 and the 06' WRX STI but they both have alot of complaints about the syncros, trans., and a really harsh ride. I really wanted a 4 seater even if the seats were tiny in the back (please dont say G35 b/c I hate how they look) Anywho, my main questions are the Enthuzist 350z's have leather right? How much does it cost monthly for the navigation or is it just the 1 time thing of the extra $2k?
The Z's will have a pretty stiff/ harsh ride as well...not that far off from the other cars you've mentioned.
If you REALLY want a 4 seater, you'll miss it the first week you get into a Z.
I don't need 4 seats (have another commuter) but the absence of the backseat can get to you quick.
I say, if you can see yourself driving an EVO or an STI.. go for it. They're more practical options.

-Its a DVD based system. There is no monthly fee to a provider.

I had a 05 350Z enthusiast 6spd, currently have a 06 STI. Hmm, thinking, I should have waited and gotten a 06 Z with an automatic.
In reality I actually need a commuter car and neither one of the vehicles mentioned, unfortunately.
Pro's for 06 Z:
Smoother ride than the STI
More refined interior, exterior
Less squeaks and rattles
Better build quality
Quieter ride too, the STI sounds like a tin can
Better gas mileage and bigger tank
Actually looks like a sports car
Smooth V6 not a turbo 4
Pro's for 06 STI
Faster, more robust power delivery. The STI is not a stoplight champ IMO, however if you need passing power from 75-120mph, very few vehicles can touch it. It is pretty scary how fast and stable the STI is above 80.
More positive, direct shifter. - Nothing wrong with the Z shifter, I just like the shift action on the STI better.
AWD - excellent grip in all weather conditions (Although, me personally, I am a bigger fan of RWD) Driving AWD is definitely different from RWD. You almost have to be more deliberate and drive harder to get the vehicle to stop understeering and behave more neutral.
Hugh trunk for dead body storage compared to the Z
Better seats. I think my biggest complaint with the Z is the horrible seats that it comes with. Material is horrible for the cloth seats and it is just not ergonomic at all for me. The fact that you spend $31K for a sports car that has such miserable seats and now you have to spend another $1400 for a set of decent Sparcos is ridiculous.
Brighter, better focused Xenons with level adjustment
That's about it. No flames, not trashing either vehicle. I owned both. Love and hate them equally. Good luck on your decision. If you decide to get a STI and want a used 06, I have mine listed on the forum.
