Need Opinions on the 350z
As of right now i am not a proud owner of a 350z, but i am really interested in purchasing one in the near future. I have a few questions for everyone.
If it makes a difference im looking for a 6speed Track or Touring
Btw sorry if this is in the wrong area of the forum.
1. What are some problems people encounter with the Z? (i have read probs with tires)
2. How does the car respond to basic bolt ons?
3. How is driveability on a daily basis? (Fed up with stiff suspension, etc)
4. Is there any differences between the First year 03 and the 04 - 05s?
5. Anything else you might find helpful to add would be great.
I am also considering an Evo, but i love the looks of the Z and thats why i am taking the time to research.
Thanks for any positive/negative feedback.

1. if you don't want any problems like everyone says get a 04.5 or above.. would be better if you just got a 05, the new it is the lesser the problems.. depends how lucky you are. Its the same ol problems you read about for 03 and 04: tire feathering, tranny, windows, etc.
2. don't know, you'll have to wait for other members to tell you that. I'm still stock.
3. Its fine for me.. but if you want soft suspension a sports car is not something you should get.
4. other members can respond to that also i don't know.
5. get it.
Forget the Evo unless you put back seats in use alot.. And for you writing:
"I am also considering an Evo, but i love the looks of the Z and thats why i am taking the time to research."
will most likely start a flame war... Thanks for Peace.

Now, is it a bad performer, absolutely not but as far as looks go... BTW: This applies to SRT4's (cough cough NEON) as well

350Z drivers, like other car owners, experience different types of problems. That's what the forum is about. Read and study.
2. How does the car respond to basic bolt ons?
Read the technical form. Plenty of advice and dyno charts.
3. How is driveability on a daily basis? (Fed up with stiff suspension, etc)
Drive one. See if you like it.
4. Is there any differences between the First year 03 and the 04 - 05s?
There are minor differences. It would take a hour to compare the various models from 3 years.

the entire frame is different, as is the drivetrain, body panels, roof, hood, interior (mostly seats), etc.
keep in mind looks are subjective so your opinion on it is only relevant to what u think.
i like the way the front end looks (i own one) but agree the back end looks pretty ugly. the front bumper and hood with the massive fmic is one of the most aggressive cars out there.

2) like crap, save ur money unless u just want it to sound better
3) its ok, kinda bumpy and small but nice. mpg sucks pretty bad too
4) mostly in the quality, dont get an 03, 04-05 is supposed to be better trans and susp.
5) way too many z's on the street driven by women have made it viewed as a girlie car around here.
drive both and see what u like, i have owned both the z and evo. my best advice is see what u want from the car, if u want more power get the evo, if u want a decent looking stock car, get the z
imo neither car is truly reliable. (lemon lawed my z after 17 trips fro warranty work.)

(1) The only problem that I have had with my 03 are tires. No windows, no tranny, no nothing else.
(2) From the ones that I have done, the car does very well. I have no complaints so far
(3) If I didn't have 20's, it would be even better, but even with the 20's, it very drivable and fun to drive. I drive mine every day.
(4) Yes. Read up and you will see.
(5) You will find that people will hate on the 03's and 04's and you will find people that hate on the 05's and 06's. Check your price market, drive them all, and make the decision for yourself. I personally like the 03's and 04's better, but that is just me.
mpg sucks pretty bad too
