Default Any Body Lease Their Car

Just what the title asks. I wanted to see how many people actually leased their z/g and have to return it in 3 or 5 years rather than trying to pay the thing off. If so why did you do it and does that mean no mods????

I’m sure that plenty of 350Z drivers have rented rather than pay outright. One of the major advantage of leases is that generally it takes less cash to get into the car.

You can mod a leased vehicle...you just have to return it stock before giving them the keys back.

There are certain mods you can leave on a lease vehicle such as brakes, suspension, tires...any kind of wearable item that has to be replaced you can leave on the vehicle.

That depends on the type of lease and terms.

I lease..

301.20 per month. 3 yr (I pay $100 additional.. $410.20) PERFECT!

Plan on buying outright after lease expires. Nothing like payin Interest free payments.. By lease end, ill only owe like 8-9k.. not bad.

That's exactly my question? Look in your lease agreement for the Residual Value of the car, I doubt it around 8 or 9K and that will be your buyout price plus MA tax.

I don't get the tax free statement you made!!!! but if you use your car for business I will agree with your comment.

He prolly means it will be less than his buy out since he's been contributing an additional $100 to his payments.

I leased my car. At the end of three years I can buy the car for 15k (hard to find a 3 year old z for that price). Plus, if you add up all the payments I'll pay less by leasing. Cheaper now, cheaper later. I thought it would be stupid not to.

I'm leasing my car as well, and modding too I leased because I don't like to stay in a car for that long, I'm definitely not one of those people who drives ONE car til the wheels fall off. So when my lease is up, the Z will go back to stock and I'll pick up a new car.

Not try to burst you bubble, but you are paying interest on that "residual" amount and in end of lease, you will have to financing again on whatever you still owe on that "residual", so you will end up paying more not less if you decides on keep the car after the lease is up...pretty much like financing the car over 8 years.

Its highly unlikely you will be paying less by leasing and purchase it after the lease is up than just purchase from the start...here is an example...
MSRP of Z---29955, purchase/lease price---28000

lease with 50% residual (14977)for 36 mos with MF of 0.002083(5%) the payment is 451.27 plus tax and to financing that residual for additional 3 years with 5% is 448.87 so you will be paying about 32405. plus sale's tax ofcourse.

Purchase it 28k for 60 mos with 5% is 528.39 and 31704 total, plus sale's tax of course.

Its pretty small difference but its hard to get 5% interest rate for used car and there are acquisition fees for lease could be range from 300 to upwards of 795.
