My old "buying tactics" Will it work on a Z?
I think I'm shrewed in buying cars. I don't go with impulse buy
and will usually wait for or near fall when next years models
are announced. Will usually go to a big enough city( for me
Minneapolis), research the inventories by computer, call 4
dealers, pin down the available car, bargain from the invoice, up,
and be ready to walk out. Oh yes, I go the last saturday of the
month. I know that there are 4 to 5 Z's seating in every
dealer in Minneapolis. I guess the problem is finding the right
model with right colors. I may need to compromise the color a
bit. I've tried that with my Jeep and Camry and it has always
worked well in the past. I don't know if I'll have this luck with
a Z. Comments?

Well just try and see! I have heard of people getting under MSRP and some over. Now that dealers have stock, they want to sell. This is not a S2K where there is only 1 in every showroom. It is a buyers market. I dont regret paying MSRP, but I have had mine for over 5 months. You can get a deal. One tip: Deal before you drive. Once you drive you will pay all you can afford to get this car

There have been several posts here reporting dealers in the northern snowbelt are selling below MSRP so I suspect you will do well. But I'd go get one before the wind/snow/freezing temps go away. Once spring breaks I bet sales improve & MSRP becomes the norm.

These are key words. People will spend months and months trying to squeeze the last dollar, buy the car in the fall ( MN, you can't really drive a Z in the snow), buy last years model ( a slight price break, but HUGE depreciation) and think they got a great deal. It does not make sense!!!
So even if you pay MSRP, have the car all summer and enjoy it...YOU ARE AHEAD of the game!!!!
Consumers spend a lot of time scheming to figure out their game plan, when the could be DRIVING THEIR CAR INSTEAD!!
Heres a tip:
Find the car you want, go in near the end of the month, and get your best deal. You will probably find a greater push at the end of the month, and with those dealers with inventory.
Good Luck!!
