Default Close to Purchasing, good deal?

Hey Guys, I am close to getting into a G35. Just wanted to run some of these numbers buy you, and let me know if it's a good deal. I have a hard budget constraint of about $400/month maximum for a car.

2006 G35 Coupe 6 speed Manual Transmission + Premium Package + Aero Package. It also includes Sport Tuned suspension (Comes with 6MT).

Initially we were at $2500 down, 39 Month Lease, 15K Miles for $575/month.

After some negotiating and pointing to lease specials in the paper (from a competing dealership):

He offered $5000 down, $379/month, 39 Month lease 15K Miles.

We offered $4000 down (includes first months payment), $379/month, 39 Month Lease 15 K Miles/yr.

So we are about $1000 dollars away, will hopefully settle somewhere in between or even better at our numbers. Would you guys let me know if this is a good deal? I imagine to get to our numbers he cut the price downto $35-36K. Is there anything I should ask him/mention try to use as leverage? or should I just do it? Thank in advance!! Hopefully we will come to some agreement in the next few days.

Are taxes included into the monthly price of the lease or are you paying them up front?

$379 mo + tax = $400 month (6% tax). I am paying the tax every month. I wasen't aware you can pay them up front?

Financing the best rates they are offering is 6% for tier-1 credit. So 6% on 35K over 60 or even 72 months is in the upper 500's or even low 600's. I just can't afford that, and that is why this lease deal jumped out at me.

dayum 6%, I got 3% two years ago. Interest rates really are going up. What bank are you financing through. Try using whatever bank you use for your savings account/checking account. Thats what I did and got a great rate compared to what the dealer was offering.

Clusion:

What is the agreed upon purchase price of the vehicle?
Do you know the residual amount?
Do you know the residual or money factor?
Is your security deposit being waived?

I can help just get me some more info.

I did go to my bank and they are offering 7.75%. I do also have a bank account with bank of america & colonial bank. They would do any better either.

For me it appears that the best rates appear to be during special times when they are either really trying to move vehicles.

$4000 down includes first month payment. That is about as much of taht as I know. The interest rate is 1.9%. I forget how to convert that to amoney factor divide by 2400 ?

I was not so concerned with risidual as I believe those are fixed and supplied by Infiniti. So there is no point in trying to bargain at that level. Same with money factor those come strait from Infiniti.

Not sure about security deposit I will inquire about that. That could possibly take $500 off the lease deal or even $250 .

I see the 24 month rates you are posting. I was looking at a similar rate 39 months and instaed of 3000 down, it's $4000 down. We are at $400 month including taxes.
