Default Back from the dealership...

First visit to the dealership here in Toronto...and was hoping to pick up my 2006 PPW Z.

I knew the invoice price beforehand, but the dealership ship said they COULD NOT go any lower than $2800 above the invoice, which in Canada is $43500 with freight and pdi, air cond. tax, pearl paint option, and registration fee. I thought it was absurd that all they could offer was $2800 above invoice which would be $53,3XX on the road?? I gave him a 'reasonable' final offer of $1800 above invoice and he wouldn't take that either so I got up and left.

How much did you CDN. guys pay above invoice for your Z? Please tell me I'm right and $2800 is too much....even $1800 I think is too much....

oh believe me....I know they will call!!

But I dont know if I should accept $1800 above invoice (if they do actually call me back accepting my offer) after reading so many posts on here of ppl paying $500 or even $300 over invoice!

Things could be different here in Canada though...might even be worth it to buy it in New York...our dollar is rising lol..

Remember that the posts you propably read were in "Yanky dollars".... 500US in other words over invoice..... Our dollar is rising, but there's still a diff.
BTW, expect to pay approx 5K after the car's made it in Canada, to get it to conform to Transport Canada standarts

MSRP is 46198

Invoice with freight&pdi, pearl paint option, air con. tax 43500

My offer 45300 which I thought is reasonable, but if I can get away with less than why not!

He kept telling me after I first tried for invoice...why would I sell a car to you at our cost price lol then I told him that probably is not your actual cost price...and he got upset! lol

Seems to me you can come to america and get a enthusiast for 30,000 otd easy and then tack on your 5,000 for canada. Save yourself 8 grand.

WOW! I'm thinking $41,598. Are all dealers in Canada this tough? Is Nissan severely limiting the number of 350Zs available to Canada to keep retail prices artificially high?

What model Z are you looking at buying? And are we speaking in CDN Dollars or USD?

45,300$ in CDN is ~40,765$ in USD. This might not be TERRIBLE if its a Touring Roadster or something, but would seem hella expensive for a Base or Enthusiast.

this is a performance model M6 all prices are CDN.

We dont have base and enthusiast.

I believe its equivalent to your Touring, as it has leather, vdc, bose with sub, and everything in between and thats our standard model. Only options are track package: brembo brakes, 18f/19r inch rims and spoilers and then the nav.

Car costs are considerably higher in canada compared to the states...and idunno why. This is a $50k vehicle in Canada, to put it in perspective...an M3is about $70k
