Default Ordering a 2007 Z? and VPP?

I know the new 2007 Z's come out in January, but does anybody have a clue as to when they will start taking orders? I plan on using my employer's VPP discount, 2.87% below dealer invoice. Has anyone 'custom-ordered' their Z using the VPP or does it only apply to 'dealer-stock'? Also, is dealer invoice, "invoice" or some made up price subject to the individual dealer, or is it a standard percentage off msrp from Nissan?
Thanks in advance.

depends on which dealer you find some will some wont i went to two that wouldlnt and found one that would. What type of nissan company you work for i thought i was getting the 2.87 but it ended up be the 4.3% which worked out better. im in the forklift industry. The dealer invoice is the number they punch into the computer from nissan is what the lady on the phone told me. So they dont have any controll over it. You will also get in on accessories that are included in the car

Invoice is the lowest they are supposed to go when selling a car. Anything below invoice is ridiculous and you've done your fair hsare of arguing on price. Nissan never has incentives or rebates on Z's. I sell Nissans and people are always asking for Z discounts.. we just laugh. I've yet to see someone use VPP on a Z. They don't have a lot of markup in them anyway.

Have you visited the dealer and offered them a deposit on a 2007? Did they refuse to take your money?

I have 4 Nissan dealers in my area. I plan on hittin at least two this weekend to do a "dry run" with the VPP thing, just to see if what I've read here on these forums holds true. My main questions will be...
1. Do you honor VPP
2. Can I order a new 07 custom and still use VPP
3. Can I haggle the price any lower than the VPP discount, or get accessories instead. (dealer stock)
4.What kind of interest rate can I get? Nissans payment calculator shows 6 percent but that seems high for a new car when I've seen used car loans for not much more. I have excellent credit and am a home owner.

Wish me luck, I gotta have a Z! but am a very patient person. I guess gettin older does that to a man.

It will be interesting to see how a dealer prices a 2007 today.

when i talked to the nissan rep he said you cant haggle vpp because nobody can even come close to touching that price. They can deny you if you want to order which one dealership did to me. 6% is the going rate right now for new cars except for the big specials. My vpp discount was 1400 below invoice and all the options. They punch the vin of the car in the computer and you come out with your price

after the VPP the price is no longer negotiable. i ordered my car through VPP and there are varying ranges for the VPP friends get plan C. if your vpp number starts with C then you will get the lowest discount. B is higher and A is the highest. A is for direct nissan employees. with the A class VPP i got my Touring Z for 33k out the door taxes and everything. financing you can arange for from an outside source if you can get a better deal then 6%. usually credit unions these days tend loan money at 6% and thats the lowest i have seen. 2 years ago on Tier 1 plus credit nissan was financing the Z at 4%. i assume its higher now because of the general intrest rate. it would probably be in your best intrest to talk directly to the Fleet manager. the Sales people will not want to sell you the car at VPP pricing. they dont make much if any money off of it. the Fleet manager does get a bonus however for moving the car VPP or not. so good luck in your purchase and bypass the sales people go directly to a sales manager.

Thanks for the info guys. Unfortuantely my plan is the "D" Plan. I called them and the details are below. What's goofy is they give you a 2.87% discount but then slap a 2.5% delivery fee back on. So I guess at the "D" level, when all said and done, it should come to about 'Dealer Invoice' Still not bad for not having to spend all day at the dealership. What trips me out is why they would have any problems doing this. If the process is so Fast and predetermined, you'd think the salesman could make a quick little buck and move on to the next deal. If I went in there and haggled with the salesman for hours, we could end up canning the deal while wasting their whole day which could have been used to sell more cars. Volume Baby!

· Dealer invoice

· Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)

· Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, Infiniti Extended Protection Plan, etc.

· Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted

· Plus destination and handling charge

· Minus applicable incentives

· Equals participant's purchase price

When a dealership sells a vehicle to you at the pre-negotiated price indicated above, it qualifies for a 5 percent delivery fee paid by Nissan North America, Inc. Please note that only dealerships in the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska are eligible to participate in the VPP.

Well went to a differnet dealer to return the girlfriends Xterra and talked to a salesman at length about the new 07s. He didn't know crap. Just from pouring over this site I was way more knowledgable. He said he could take an order for an 07, but then I asked how that was possible since pricing and a bunch of other details have not been released yet.
However, he did say I could custom order an 07 using the VPP discount. Although I was still confused cuz I thought they needed the VIN number to run the data sheet. He also said it would take four months, but I am cool with that, need to save up some down cash anyway. I plan on ordering one as soon as they are released. Hopefully there will be some cool 'different' colors available. They had an Interlagos 06 there that I futzed around with. Man I love this car, can't wait to get one.
So...is this salesman an idiot or what? Should I beleive anything he said. I think I'll just wait until they come out to put in my order to be sure?

Bringing up an old thread but I tired VPP through my company and it's a double edge sword. Once VPP is mentioned the dealership will stop all talks and negociations on the price. They will give you a set agreed price btw your company and Nissan.

So if I was looking into getting an 07 in the near future, do you think I should mention VPP or can I get a Z lower than VPP pricing because of the new model year comming out soon?

I recommend you guys try calling the fleet department of large high volume dealerships, gettinng the fleet manager's name and dealing with them directly. Fleet people are the guys who sell to people like costco customers, etc. and should give you absolutely no BS over what they can and can't do over pricing, etc.
