Default Planning to buy New/Used Z

This is my first post on these forums so I suppose I will introduce myself to start. My name is Jay, I am a college student and I live in Melbourne, Florida. I'm currently driving a '98 240sx which I purchased about 4 years ago. Since then I've made numerous modifications, mostly performance, including turbocharging the stock KA24DE motor. I've put enormous time and effort into the car and it came out great. But I've decided that since I'll be moving off to another college soon I'd rather get something more reliable and driveable. But thats not to say I'm giving up my car for anything less.

I'll be looking to buy a 350Z in the coming months and I'd be interested to hear some input from some forum members. I haven't decided whether I am going to buy a new or used Z yet. If I buy a new Z it will most likely be a touring model with a 6spd.

But If I go used.....
-I've heard mixed oppinions about the models equipped with the "rev-up" motor.
-What kind of warranty can I expect if I buy used?
-I want a LSD in the car no matter what. Is the VSLD solid in equipped models?
-I would like leather seats and a nice sound system. I've built quite a nice system in my current car (based on sound quality) and I'm sure I could in a Z as well. What does everyone think about the Bose system? Is it worth paying extra for it?
-Are there any other issues with certain years/models I should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance,
Jay

-don't get the revup.
-don't expect warranty when used. You get the powertrain warranty no matter who owns the car.
-bose sucks. leather sucks (imo, definitely the bose sucks)
-search the forum

Most reliable year: 2006.
Least reliable year: 2003.

30 months/30,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.
60 months/60,000 mile drivetrain.

I might be taking Fluid1's advice and going with cloth seats (enthus) instead. Just curios, say I want to upgrade to leather later on by buying some used leather seats. Are the leather interiors different from the cloth interiors, or just the seats?

The leather interiors also come with a specialized Eject button in-case $hit hits the fan and you need to get the hell out of the car.

Besides that....they are pretty much the same

I would say to find a 2005 anniversary edition or a 2006.

Everyone says about oil consumption in the 2006's.
I know 4 other Z guys in Mi and none of us have had this problem...

The cloth seats are ok, but when you are buying a Z spend the extra $300-500 in the price of a used one and get the leather...It looks ALOT better in my opinion

Good luck with your purchase.
