Default 2003 350z Touring

I've been in contact with my local dealership for about a week now, I am currently looking at a 350z, Touring in red. It's from 2003. I've read the boards and heard that tire feathering and transmission issues were bad with the 2003-2005. I was wondering, the current price is $23,225, but they want to get rid of it bad. Any tips for me so I can try knockin down about 6 to 8 thousand dollars on it due to it being used, 30k miles and tire feathering/transmission. Dont get me wrong I want the car and I know its an amazing vehicle, I'd just like to have some money left over every month, I'm 18 and paying for it myself, along with insurance and gas. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Just tell them all the issues and offer them $18K, see what their counter offer is?

Very good, so I've test driven the Z and the G35, yeah the G35 felt a lot heavier than the Z...whats your take on the car?(350z) Unbiased if possible

I didnt get to really drive the car...
Handling?
Acceleration?
Gear Ratios?
Modding costs/effeciency?

I agree with zand02max. Figure the maximum that you are willing to pay, and make an offer. Once you start to back off with Well I can go $500 more, then you are dead. If the seller can get an additional $500, then he will try for another $500.

Be prepared to say thank you and walk away.
