Question on oil change...
being new here i may have this in the wrong forum..will gladly take help on where to post.
my question is about oil changes..(350Z 2005 with 30,000miles) ..go to valvoline or nissan? every 3,000? .
..any advice on this? . thanks andee

..any advice on this? . thanks andeeSearch the Forums, lots of useful information. Can't go wrong with any brand name oil, the interval is what counts! Filters, now thats another issue. Stick with the OEM filter and change every 3K!
OMG...listen if you have fully synthetic Oil then you can change it every 4,000 to 7,500 miles...if you have regular oil then I would recommend changing the oil every 3,000 -4,500 miles...the filter...I agree stick with the Nissan OEM one. it really doesn't matter where you go to get your oil changed, but make sure you pick the oil you want and STICK WITH IT....mixing oils is not a good idea, because some companies use different detergents and when you mix the oils those detergents may be of no use anymore meaning the protection they would have provided before....they now won't provide.
(take it from a mechanic) but Zand02max is telling you good info...and learn to do it yourself...it's very simple, and you will feel good knowing that you don't have to pay for it. (But make sure you let a mechanic teach you, or just read up on it...there are certain steps that you must take (like not overtightening the filter, and oiling the rubber seal on the filter.

True, some oils have better additive packages than others. But that doesn't mean you can't switch around...

If I change the oil every 7500 (using amsoil rated for 7500), do I still have to change the filter every 3000-5000? Is this even possible to do without all the oil falling out?
