General questions on leasing - help appreciated
I've never really thought of doing this but after talking the options over with a buddy it seems to make sense for me at this time since i change cars a lot and could use my assets towards other things rather than buying my next car cash. That being said i realize the general procedure of putting X money down then having a monthly payment, but I wasn't sure how its handled if you don't fit the ideal criteria they hold their offers too. Unfortuantely, due to some misfortune a few years ago my credit was pretty badly tainted so it's not the best currently. How does that affect qualifying for a lease? Do they flat turn you down or can they work with you in other ways such as a larger down payment or monthly payment? If you can put more down does that affect the total cost to you in the end? Like say you would have paid 20k on the car by the time you terminate the lease with a 2500 down payment but instead you have to put 7500 would you still just be making monthly payments on the remaining 12500 or would the final price have gone up another 5k? The car I'm looking to buy is a little over 40k if that matters. These questions may seem dumb but i rather find them out on here or through other means before i start inquiring and not knowing what im talking about. I appreciate any responses on this.
Yeah basically i know i can make a lot more through other means off the plump some of buying it outright rather than dumping it all. Worse investment i can possibly think of. Plus i'm sure in 3-4 years i'll be getting into another car anyway.

It is not very likely that you are going to get ane meaningful answers on a message board.

Yup, just head up to a dealer and give it a dry run. I'm sure your credit rating effects leaseing as it does purchasing. Most Leases require a security deposit, so it may be more for you than others. The worse your credit score the higher your payment will be. translation...higher interest rate.
