Default 06 rsx-s or 06 base z...

i'm kind of stuck in a dilemma. i need to pick between an 06 base Z of an 06 rsx type s. normally i would run towards the Z, but the rsx seems to me the better because it just seems more practical, gas efficient, and it has extra seats in the back (plus it's cheaper). what do you guys think (this car will be a daily driver going about 50 miles a day)?

Insurance will be more for the RSX. No cruise in the base model!

this is a tough decision. I'm going to have to say, choose whatever your pockets can handle. as for me, i choose the Z because i have one. although the typeS is a fun car to drive. go drive both, and ask the dealer to let you drive them hard. then decide after that.

There's no denying the quality of a Honda product, although the extra power and the style turned me onto the Z

The choice is easy...get the Z

More power, RWD, better looks

As far as the gas mileage on the rsx you are talking of maybe a few dollars a week saving's depending on driving habits, and how far you drive. I get 19mpg with a heavy foot.

Go with the Z. You won't be disappointed after you take the first WOT in it.

I'm guessing because a lot more teenagers have them because they are cheaper than the Z. So if more teenagers drive them than that equals more accidents wich raises the insurance. The Z is too expensive for the average teenager to buy so that cuts down on teenagers driving them. Just look at drivers in the Z when your out driving, most of the owners are old farts. Just my

Hope you're talking about the Type-S and not the Base RSX.

anyway... If you dont need the seats, get the Z. If you need the seats and cant afford a G35 by the civ.. err RSX... The RSX is fun but it is FWD and the minute you drive it off the lot every little ricer kiddie wants to race. Seriously, on my way home from picking it up atleast 4 people tried to race me, one even popped a hand brake in his jetta attempting to do something like a slide but ended up looking retarded while making a right turn. But I guess the same thing will happen with the Z.

I bought one end of 05 over the Z thinking it would be cheaper and that I needed two seats WRONG. Now I'm bored waiting for the 07 Z to come out so I can sell it. (wanna buy a Type-S PWP ? seriously). Might also consider the Civic Si, basically is the RSX with improvements to the suspension and a LSD (fugly though).

Also remember dont pay that Sticker on the RSX it's no longer in production (06 is last year for them) . You'll probably end up saving atleast 3-4 grand if you're getting the Type-S over the base Z. With that money you will have the power...the power to mod and still be slower than the Z !

I use to do 80 miles in the RSX a day, fun car great gas mileage, assuming its Highway you're doing. City MPG suck, overall I'd say they're gonna be the same since the RSX is so rev happy. Insurance is a ***** cause its basically a civic/integra. Z's are prodominantly owned by the 25 and up crowd (atleast from what I've seen). In fact if I changed my rsx to the Z my insurance would go down 100 for six months, nice eh?

end rant!

Asking Z owners what to buy......uhhhhh.........buy the Z now. Who needs back seats anyway. Two chicks can ride in the passenger seat anyway. Anymore than that and it is just drama. Trust me.

Its a tough choice, I would highly recommend an RSX. With a few breather mods I/H/E and Kpro you are easily at 230 to the wheels. They are extremely fun cars and handle boost with the best of them. I've been daily driving at 500whp with a GT35R on a stock block for almost a year now. Very reliable cars and great re-sale value.
