Would you buy a 350Z that had been in an accident?
Hi, I'm a long time lurker and I'm finally ready to buy a 350. I just got sold my 2002 RSX Type-S so I have quite a bit of money to put down on my next purchase.
I came across a PPW 350Z that was in my price range and it has relatively low miles (28K miles for a 2004.5). The problem is that when I contacted the seller for the VIN# to run a Carfax on it, the seller informed me that the car was rear ended while sitting at a stoplight. According to the seller, the rear bumper cover and hatch were replaced and that there was no frame damage. I of course have emailed him back asking if he had the paperwork from the repairs and asked to find out who did the repairs.
The seller also has the selling price adjusted because the car was in an accident so the price is very appealing.
I'm just wondering if I should walk away from this because of the accident or consider purchasing it because the price is great, it has low mileage for that year, the warranty is still good on the car, and it's a color I like.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

If you are educated in the automotive world look at it and judge for yourself. Although, you never really know how the car was hit. Or you could take someone else with you to look at it. I would stay away from it because you can get Z's now that are not too expensive, just have to know where to look. Maybe their is something wrong with it if he dropped the price to where it is very appealing. Look thrice and buy once.
I think you should just buy my 03 touring... just kidding, I wouldn't worry if it was just the rear bumper, however if it was hit hard enough to damage the hatch i'd have it professionally inspected before buying.
Thanks for the replies. I'm still on the fence about the car. The problem about having the car inspected or inspecting it myself is that the car is about 500 miles away from me and out of state.
Another concern I have about the car is the paint matching. I've read that PPW color is difficult to match.
I'll keep you guys updated.
Thanks again.
