Default 07 Enthusiast pricing

Ok, yet another "What can I get this car for" thread... bear with me though, please I have a few questions to iron out! Here is the pricing from Nissan USA for the exact car I want, an 07 Enthusiast:

MSRP/Invoice: 29,600/ 27,375

Airbags: 620
Floor Mats: 90
Trunk Mat: 70
Kick Plates: 110
Aero Pkg: 530

Destination: 615

MSRP/Invoice: 31,635/ 29,132

So I have to pay destination, correct? In that case, 29,132 is invoice. And I am correct when I say they usually won't go under invoice, right? So, would 2% over invoice be fair then? 29,714.64.

Basically after that I will be paying taxes, tags/ registration fee. Processing fees are usually 299 around here... should I be paying that? Finally, what is taxed then? The car itself, processing fee, and registration/ tags right?

Just some small questions, any advice would be great! Thanks!!

Matt

Matt,

I just bought my 2007 Enthusiast from a dealership in Manassas, VA. Some other members were asking the similar question about pricing and so here is my original post about the price I got:

"I got the dealership to drop the documentation (processing) fee and lower the price to $325 under invoice.

The dealership is going to "work" you as much as possible.......turn it around and "work" them. They are there to get as much $$$ out of you as possible and you are there to save as much $$$ as possible.

If you don't like the way things are going, get up and leave. Go talk to another dealership. Then do the whole: "Well, such and such dealership is willing to offer me the car at this price". More than likely they will go below that price. Once they do, go back to the original dealership and say: "Such and such dealership is going below your offer. If you want my business, can you beat that offer"? Then again more than likely they will go below. Keep doin this back and forth until you find the price and offer your looking for.

If you really want this car, you have to put in the "leg work" and play the game. You just have to play it a little better than the dealership."

Basically bro.....you can more than likely get them to drop the processing fee and sell under invoice. Oh and the dealership had to go get the car in Maryland and I did not even pay destination charges.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Ryan

I have yet to decide, but I will do as you advised and bounce between the different dealerships. I purchased my last Z at Rosenthal Nissan, but they **** raped me, so they will not be getting my business this time... I think I will go with Sheehy in Manassas.. pricing out in Manassas is not as crazy as in Fairfax. My gf bought a brand new car out there and get a way better deal than she did in Fairfax.

Why do all the driving back and forth, Just BS the dealer and tell them so an so offered my x amount. My time is usually more valuable than my money so wasting several weekend just aint worth it to me. I'm getting my 07 enthusiast for 28760, same options as you minus the aero kit, which didn't seem worth it to me. tiny and kinda looks 'added' to me.

im not sure if your referring to my original comment about negotiating with 4 dealerships or to KManZ about how he is going to check out other dealerships.....but everything can be done over the phone.

like i said, i contacted 4 dealerships and did not step foot on their lot one time. the only reason "you" would need to go to the dealership is to test drive the car and/or pick up the car. i did everything over the phone. once we settled, the dealership went and got the car, took pictures of it and emailed them to me.

Ok, so lets say they agree to 28824, after I get them to half the destination charge. I could maybe do better, but lets say this is where we end for this example. No processing fee. Taxes here in VA are 3.2%, I have tags I will transfer, I think thats like 12.50. Registration.. not sure, lets say 90.00. Titling I thought was part of the registration. IF not, whats the cost on that?

Ok, what am I paying taxes on? Just the price of the car, or on the fees for the other stuff? What would the OTD price be?

You can't negotiate out the destination charge(shipping). They will cleveryly say they are but will make up for it elsewhere. They pay it so you do. The only recourse is to lower the actaul car price, make sense?

if you can get invoice minus 3% you just got a
"NET NET " deal! that's basically what the dealer owns it for! there's no secret here. it's invoice (3% x's the MSRP amount is the hold back # the dealer has on the 350Z) and then minus that out from invoice , that's everthing the dealer has on it! just be careful that the doc fees are not unreasonable , should be between $50-200 depending on the state more then that it's a rip off! sales tax of course is there, at least you don't live in NJ it's 7%!!!!! Hope that helps a bit!

Correct. Destination is included in MSRP.

Processing fees mean money in the dealers pocket. I would pay a max of $100.

Generally, taxes are on the price of the vehicle, not fees.

MSRP: $31,635
My target price is $30,053.

Dealers are generally straight-up about title and registration. How much? Visit the DMV online.

Is this your OTD price, or the price of the car only?

Got my 07 Enthusiast for $27,870 (+Tags and title) with splash guards, aluminum kicks, cargo convenience. The Dealer had to get it from VA (I'm in MD) cause I wanted it without front plates :P . In any case shop around and if you're willing to make the drive up I can recommened a great dealership and salesman to buy from. I've purchased an Xterra and the 07 Z from the same guy, both times I got each car under invoice with a smooth transaction.

I will definitely be in touch when the time comes. What dealership are you referring to?
