Hey guys im new here!
I am going to be purchasing a 350z hopefully very soon now. I cant wait! can u guys tell me some stuff about the car? like what are the positives, negatives. i would really appreciate it! o by the way i have a scion tc which i have put LOTS of money into...but its time to move on to something more serious. thanks!
well i heard some negative things about models before 2005. like the tire wear is uneven and u have to replace the tires very frequently. is this true? i have my eyes on a 03 silver 350Z and it looks really nice. but i dont want to get it if i am going to have problems. about the car, like i said, its an 03, 6 speed, with 40k miles.
There is a lot of people here with 03s with 0 problems.
Sports Cars in general go through tires pretty quick and overall cost more to own than just about any other automobile.
I would assume that most anyone at this point would have gotten the tire feathering issues fixed up. It should be easy to tell by looking at the tires that are on it. Do they look like they are wearing abnormally? There were also some transmission issues in 03 that I assume most people would have gotten fixed by now.
Its hard to say if it is a good deal or not since you didn't say how much it is or what options it has on it.
Mileage is ok though.

Just purchase a 03 Z, I felt the same way you felt about tires and little problems here and there. Most sportcar tires is very expensive. I brought the 78, 85, 92 Z's. The 350Z is the best. I will continue to buy the Z's much easy to maintain than a Porshe, Corvette.

Hmmph.
Pros:
Doesn't take much acceleration to reach the speed you want.
Real cool forum members help you out with pricing. (Like DavidV)
IMO, the car is a work of art.
Very affordable (also IMO).
Exhaust sounds phenominal.
Cons:
It is a bit expensive to maintain
Too much power (and RWD) can be dangerous for some folk.
When you do take it for a spin, you won't be disappointed. Many more pros then cons. Let's hope that some of the maintenance costs don't get to you. For do it yourselves, search the forum. Someone made an oilchanging DIY that was real thorough and helpful. I don't remember who but there are other DIYs that are good to know about.
Oh yea, I drive an 06 Enthusiast *6spd and I got it for I believe $28,200 drive-out. I got my brother an 06 Enthusiast *5spd for $27,900 drive-out. I have no problems with my Z but my brother seems to be finishing his gas alot quicker and a few weeks ago, he started having trouble with his passenger side window. It takes alot longer to go down and up. I think those prices for Enthusiast models are cheap so you should try to aim for the average of those prices. Good luck with everything. Sorry it's so long.

Wow, I think I did alright then. I just picked up a 03 Base with 37K miles, new factory wheels and tires, car cover, custom leather, clean history, $17.5K. Did I mention it also has NIssan's Gold 100K mile warranty on it?
