Hard to find Enthusiast with MT...settle for Base? Also some Pricing advise.
Seems like all the dealers within a 50 mile radius have either no enthusiast models or the 1 or 2 they have are AT. Then yesterday I did find ONE but of course not in any of the colors I would like (black/san marino blue or silverstone)
I am starting to wonder if i might have to settle for a base. Although I must admit i like the options on the enthusiast. Not only the LSD and traction control but the cosmetics like the volume controls, pedals, auto dimming rearview mirror etc..
What do you guys think? I know the car can be ordered trough Nissan and all but that'd mean a 3 month wait or so...and I kind of need a car sooner than that.
I live in FL so I dont know to what extent i need traction control or lsd...although it does rain a lot here especially summer and this would be my first RWD car...maybe i do need it for safety?
Then the cosmetics I guess can be be bought afterwards like the pedal covers, mirror, etc..
By the way I was doing some haggling on that one enthusiast just to see what kind of price I'd get and I got them to offer the car at invoice with no dealer fee which was $600 extra.. he said he'd give me that deal for any of the Z's. He understands i know they make money off holdback and floorplan. However he said if he was to get say an enthusiast from another dealer in a color i want, he couldnt give me that price cos he'd lose his holdback? sounds correct?

Expand your dealer search on the Nissan site. I ended up looking at 2/3s of the dealers in Cali to find the exact car I wanted. I ended up buying mine from a dealer 300 miles away.
Yes, imo, you want the Enthusiast; best bang for buck.

Thanks, yeah I'm broadening my search, the only thing is I cannot wait too long. I have a buyer for my car and don't want to risk holding if off much longer and risk losing the buyer. I'll definitely hold off as long as i can though to get one. Looks like the extras are worth it.
