Default Options on current lease

Well, tonight i hit my lease mileage limit, 45k. I still have until august 28th for my lease to end, so from now on im going to pay 15 cents a mile. This is going to add up fast, especially since i LOVE to drive and its summer. I was wondering what do you guys think I should do. I plan to pick up a touring Z at the end of the summer, i was hoping by then i should have some money saved. My father will be paying for most of the car as far as i know, hes going to be taking a loan out from his credit union, well rather i will be getting the loan from them. If I can get approved for the loan, do you guys think i should turn the car in now and see if i can get the Z? I know ill prolly have to pay the remaining amount which should either be 975 or 650, not sure if this months was paid.

I love my car , Charcoal 2 door accord v6, its an 04, tinted out, great system set up, but I dont wanna shell out like 700 bucks at the end of the summer for going like 5k over, and I most likely need to fix the hole in my bumper from sliding into rock hard ice in a parking spot going like 5mph heh. Im going to call my father tomorrow and see what he thinks. Ive got news for him, and my mom actually, I think ive decided going against becoming an R.N., I wanna do something that makes serious money so, I think i wanna become an Anesthesiologist. All that school is going to put me in big debt but regardless it will be worth it in the end. Just curious what you guys would do. I want to get an 07, because ill prolly be putting a lot of miles on the car commuting to schools.

You need to do the following:

Calculate the average miles/mon you will drive from here to August and figure out the penalties.

Look at how much your car is worth on the market as a trade in with the current mile and what you think it'll be by August.

Look at the payoff remaining on the loan.

Gather all these info and see which route is going to cost you the least amount of $$. You might be better off now trading the car in. I think you should also stick with another Honda or a more economical car given your position as a student. The Z is not the best choice.

If you're going to get another Nissan, you can always give the car back 3 months in advance and re-lease.

he has a honda now.

I gotta tell ya being serious in debt sucks and it looks like you are going to be putting yourself in pretty deep if you go for a new car now.

I think you need to sit down with your parents and talk about your budget for however many years you have in school.

Don't forget the Z is pricey to maintain compared to your current car. Tires are expensive and by all accounts they wear pretty fast. You insurance is also going to go up.

And of course school parking lots are terrible on a car. Its rare you can park something out of the way and half asleep communters tend to door ding in typical small parking spaces of most schools I have visited.

A beater makes more sense in college but rarely do kids with the option of something else go that direction. Usually its people in hindsight that see this is the right thing to do.

Yea well, Im sick of this car pretty much lol, I wouldnt mind it if it didnt handle like absolute ****. I mean seriously my mothers grand cherokee handles better, even my stepfathers boat of a DTS. Big *** sidewalls on 16's and huge wheel gap. My friends like my car but they know it handles like crap. School's debt is going to be 10x more than a car loan so its kind of negligable, as I said my father is going to pay for the car, he has to pay my mother until im out of college, so i use that money for my car now. And as for insurance, well Im paying 3k a year. I have a horrible insurance company, USAA. NO points or accidents and im 21. I quoted Geico for 1500 a year for the same coverage i have now, So ill be saving money. I just know if i bought the car out the resale value is going to go down the ****ter, since the new accord is coming out september i think. I guess ill see what my father says. Buyout price is about 14.5. I thought about the altima coupe, but by just adding one package to the v6 it put it at like 2 or 3k less than the Z, so I might as well get the car i want. Plus i cant stand CVT, theyre annoying as hell.

Well, he flipped out on me lol, he was like im so sick of you complaining about your car this and that!!! I was really taken back lol i totally didnt expect him to go off like that, he hung up on me after that and called back to apologize. He was like im so depressed i just snapped lol, anyway he was like well theres nothing we can do right now, he said were just going to have to pay the overage miles and thats that. But he told me he signed me up with his credit union so as long as i save some good money the next 3 months I should get the loan for the car. They actually only require the first 2 car payments down, but obviously ide like to save up more for a downpayment. So just gotta be patient.
