Pray for me, guys. I may have found it.

I usually tell them "well I got so and so offered at this dealership", and they tend to match that. I'd say 10,000 and they'll ask if 9500 is fair? But I hate it when they try to drown me in bullsh*t by telling me my car is worth $7000, and that they can get it from an auction for $8000. They're looking at base model prices, meanwhile I have a fully loaded SE.
I found an 06 Daytona/Frost Touring with 5000k miles on it. Dealer is asking 27.5k for it. Won't be making the purchase until at least the end of June now, since my dad is leaving on a trip and the Maxima was on his name.
Hopefully a few more Zs sprout up here and there.

Also, the "so and so dealership offered me this much for my trade" scenario is also a good tactic like you had mentioned doing.
Well they accepted 26k it seems like, so I've already knocked 2k off the car before I even got there. Going to them on Friday with a possible deposit in mind. And I told them off the bat that I want 10k for my car, and he said that his manager wants to take a look at it, since it may be worth between 8000 and 10k. I'm cool with that.

-Always say you have found a couple other Z's you like just as much. It's all about price. This way he can't say "well... are they equipped like our is..or blah blah blah". If they are all basically the same, PRICE is the ONLY real factor left.
-If you ever feel like you are getting uncomfortable, pick your cell phone up and say "I need to call this guy...be right back" or whatever. It'll make the salesguy think "who the hell is he calling" and it'll also give you a minute to think about what you are doing. Regroup.
-When you feel like you and the Manager (because he is the real person that is going to decide on what the selling price will be) have come to a standstill in price there is one really effective method: Say one more time what you want to buy the Z for, tell the salesperson thank you, stand up to leave, and start walking towards the door.
Wish I could help you out personally like I have with some family members and a few friends. Just be confident and remember if you do have to leave before getting the price you want, the Z will be there the next day.
G'Luck brah..
Yeah, I frequently do the "other Zs" bit. I usually bring with me a whole list of Zs that I see on Autotrader and compare the prices and mileage to the car I'm looking at. And good idea on the cell phone thing, I tend to get annoyed with some of these dealers quickly and don't really know what to say to them sometimes.
