Lease Question
O.K. i had a dealer contact me today telling me he has located the vehicle im looking for 07 touring Coupe manual with Navi however we havent discussed Lease Payments yet I have to come meet him on Sunday to go over specifics my question is what are you guys paying on your leases?, what terms are you getting? 2 years? 3 years? etc...btw does anyone know the money factor on the lease and what do Nissan Dealers Charge for vehicle relocation if my car was found out of state? (im gonna fight to get it waived anyway i just wanna see how much they try to charge me as im sure this may vary from dealer to dealer) any feedback or help is really appreciated im very anxious to get into a Z already.
thanks
thanks
My opinion is that unless you are the type who loves to change cars, leasing just sucks. It's like paying rent for an apartment and on the day it ends you have to go elsewhere and basically invested in nothing. Sure a car depreciates in value, but at least when your payment plan is finally up, you still have some value left in the car.
no such thing as a relocation fee, dont let them tell you otherwise.i worked for nissan. YOUR payment will vary so u cant really ask someone about their payment. payment depends on your credit, down payment, term of lease and the money factor on the lease, and mileage/yr. hopew that helps

We pay our dealer trade drivers $75-250, then fuel, and possibly food and lodging depending upon duration of the trip. Flatbed shipping costs typically twice as much. Depending on the agreed upon selling price of the car, the dealership may or may not absorb this overhead.
Enjoy the new car.

y would u want someone u DONT know to drive Your car(if u buy it) to your dealership? i would have they flat bed it over..not to mention rackin-up the miles before u even get it.
This attached excel sheet will help you calculate your exact payment given the terms the bank is offering you based on your credit rating.
i STRONGLY recommend you take this excel sheet on a laptop into the dealer with you. startpluggin in numbers as they are giving them to you.
first thing first, negotiate a SELLING price on the car as IF you were going to buy it, THEN once youve got an acceptable selling price for the car, usually 200-400 over invoice(check edmonds.com for invoice of 350z with options you are buying), tell them you will consider leasing.
after filling out credit app, they will present you with lease options from different lenders. NMAC is a popular one, but there will be others, ASK.
what you KNOW:
negotiated selling price of car
tax in your state
cash down
what you need to ASK:
residual value(this will vary lender to lender)
money factor (will vary greatly on credit score)
dealer acquisition fee
term of lease( in months)
security deposit(if applicable)
title/tag fees
OTHER fees( if the car they found is out of state, get ready to pay 600+ to transport it in)
with these numbers, you can calculate YOUR exact payment as calculated by federal govenment leasing act.
TRUST me, when you start asking questions like that and typing in number on your laptop and TELLING THEM what your payment SHOULD be, not what they are offering you...their jaws will drop. The finance guy will be dying to jump over the desk and see what it is you have on your laptop.
download my attachment, and rename the file extension to XLS
REMEMBER, they need to sell this car MORE than you need to buy it.
note: i did not create this excel sheet, give thanks to the guys at carbuyingtips.com, they really did save me hundreds on my lease, and helped me not look like an idiot at the dealer. youll be surprised how much they respect you when they see you are knowledgeable on how leases work.

+1, its amazing how people always say that leasing is a bad idea or for people who can't afford the car. I lease as well. some of us like to get a new car every so often, or have multiple vehicles. I don't put alot of miles on my Z cuz I have a second car I drive when it rains or if I'm going to a sketch place, i.e downtown, walmart, strip club etc.
A lease is going to run you between 400-500 a month. Mine's 430.
The residual value for the 07 was 41% and the money factor was equal to about 6.2%. Not the best residule but a car is not a good investment anyway
Good luck. The Z is a fun car.
if you lease the car, you'll have to keep it stock, no way I would wanna do that, but its up to you. Besides I don't understand why someone would wanna pay for a car and then not own any part of it. Idk, doesn't make sense to me.
alot of people with own business LEASE, and why you ask? They wright it off, so some of the money they put into the payments of the lease they get back (tax season). Make sure to save the receipts!

another untrue lease statement. You can mod it all day long, just take the stuff off before turning it back in. I'd do that anyway, buy or lease, to recoupe some of the initial cash back on the mods. Lookin to get an exhaust soon. I lease and would just have the stock put back on and sell the aftermarket unit when the time comes. easy greasy...
