Default Any tips for purchasing a non-resident vehicle?

I am considering purchasing a car registered in Washington while I reside in California. What are some things I need to watch out for? Anyone have experience doing something similar? Thanks.

I see no problem buying a vehicle registered in another state. I recommend that you get a bill of sale, and that the vehicle has a clear title.

If there car is not from CA, it probably doesn't have Cali emissions. This will make it next to impossible to register in Cali.

The California-required emission controls. If it is not a California-equipped car, you will not be able to register it in California.

It won't pass. If nothing else, it will fail on visual.

Cars registered in CA must be CA emissions equipped.
