You guys arent gonna believe this, but I ran into the lady who traded the Z in at the dealership.

I had been keepin' an eye out for her, but never really thought I'd ever see her....I did know that she was a middle aged lady that traded in for a new Saturn Sky.

Well, I was at a stop light today and guess who pulls up right beside of me.

Long story short, they gave her 15,500 for her Z on trade.

....any new ideas on what to do with this info? and no I havent called or went back by the dealership

Offer $17,500 + T,T,&L.

That's about $2K profit, even if they put a little money into it.

If they don't take it, quit worrying about it, another one will come along.

I hope you get your 350Z and everything works out, but like i said before, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THEY SHOWED THIS LADY ON TRADE.

If they gave her $1 and charged her $10,001 for the Saturn, gave her $40,000 and charged her $50,000, or gave her $15,500 and charged her $25,500, the dealer investment is the same, and likely higher than $15,500 based on a variety of sources.

$15,500 sounds about right for an 03 Z. At least here in Texas, thats about what a loaded one will fetch, trade wise.

Question

Have you found a 350Z within your budget?

Of course, the $15.5K is what the car is worth in trade-in, not neccesarily what they put in it. They might have put more in it.
Tell them you're willing to pay 17500OTD and tell them when they feel like selling the car to you to call you again. Basically, everytime they call to agree to another price, low ball them again. With used cars, time is on your side.

I am personally a little worried about any 350z from '03. I heard that a lot of the older could possibly be "Katrina Throwbacks"--especially those priced really cheap.

Thoughts?
